Sounds like it's not able to contact minecraft.net. Verify that your DNS is working properly. Port forwarding wouldn't cause that error, it'd simply result in people being unable to connect to the server, as port forwarding is for incoming traffic, not outgoing.

Also to the side, I cannot get people to connect. They say it always says that it's probably down. But im almost completly sure that I have the right ports connected properly. One thing is that on 'Port Checker' it says that it cannot ping my router. What does this mean?
Another quick thing, I have my ports forwarded corectly (almost sure) but people can't connect to my server. They say that it says that the server is probably down. Anyone know why? Also as a note, on 'Port Checker', it says that the port is open, but it can't ping my router. What does this mean?
How can I change the map's build requirement? My main map seems to be set that only builders can build anything, but this is a public server and I'd like anyone to be able to build anything. tried everything but couldn't figure it out...help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
I have set up my server and have the "main" map that it creates, it opens but no-one can build or edit anything. It just says "You do not have permission to edit this map." Even though I put the settings on guest goto "true" i cant change maps either.
I am able to do everything on my admin account.
Everyone leaves because they can't build.
How do I automatically give them these permissions?
