I have been trying for the past couple of months to start a server, its still being really weird...
I have forwarded ports, and made exceptions through my firewall, tried to sign on wouldn't let me
I then changed the ports to another number, same thing
I gave up for awhile lol
i thought maybe its because the ports arent 5 digits, i changed it same thing :/ doesn't let me sign on
i've tried changing the port forwards to UDP and TCP connections, even both xD
changed verify names true and false, and i still cant get it to work D:
there has to be something wrong, or am i just being really REALLY blind?
What ip address are you using? What kind of network do you have? Check that your using your computers ip address and not one from another device. Also, is there anything odd in your server log?

i should be using my laptops ip.. but ill double check, im not sure what kind of network im using, but my desktop is using a wire connection, and my laptop is wireless. i'll edit this post when i try again
(should i use the ip that it says in the server log?)
sorry for the double post, i checked the port forwarding page again and in the ip adress part it showed the default ip adress :X i changed it to my actual ip adress, and now it still doesn;t work :/
I figured that must be the problem, but it wasn't D: im starting to get frustrated xD
{EDIT} problem solved :biggrin.gif: turns out minecraft uses TCP not UDP changed it and now the server is working, i knew it would be something ridiculously stupid and easy
