Today I reset the map On my server and earlier today I was looking at the thing the server runs on and at a certain time several Ips entered and one of them connected 3 times and that is what it said and the 4 people on disconnected and my brother closed it as I was reading and I wasn't able to get the Ip addresses. I tried to bring my server up after my brother got off and the map file failed to work and a new level was generated. Luckily I had one backup. Has this happened to anyone else?
Edit: Oh yeah, there was a column of messages that is the automatic messages, the level saved and an attribute connection message I get that repeated itself 10 times before the Ips came on. Also I found a log here is what happened:

What do you mean by people just Dos'ing you? This happens to my server also, so is it just hackers using a script to shut the server down or what? And is it like.... It shuts down right when they join or can they choose when to do it (So that I know rather or not to ban the people who join when it shuts down)
A DoS (Denial of Service) attack basically is making a server use up a lot of its resources (bandwidth, memory, etc.) in order to make it unplayable or frustrate others.
In this case they were rapidly connecting to your server trying to lag it out or crash.

Former #minecraft channel operator.
Is that bad/effective? (DoS)
It depends on how retarded they are.
