Yes, I've read the sticky on setting this up. And I've googled for information about my ISP/router (Bell Canada/2wire 2701 HG-G)
But things just aren't working. My Windows firewall is turned off, and I've got !avast running. I'm thinking it's either that...or just my notorious ISP. Ah, and I'm running Windows Vista SP1, if that helps.
So now I turn to you folks. If anyone can offer some general help (hopefully someone in a similar situation), that'd be awesome.
Go to http://www.pcwintech.com/node/36 and find the username and password for your specific router, you'll need this later on.
Open up the Command Prompt at the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories
type ipconfig and hit enter
Find where it says "Default gateway: xxx.xxx.x.x"
put the ip address into your browser
Enter the username and password you got from http://www.pcwintech.com/node/36 to log in
Find the page for your router configuration that has port forwarding.
Forward port 25565 (that's the default minecraft port)
Yeah, the router's got this "Application Support" page that allows certain applications to forward ports.
I've created a Minecraft profile to open port 25565. It looks like this:
The "Definition List" shows the information I've already sent to the damn thing.
And I've tested it with the tool on this site:http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm, and of course, it fails (both TCP and UDP)
I'm not very tech-savvy, but I've followed generally the same instructions from many sites, and nothing's working.
