So today I saw a user join and thought nothing of it. Later the console kicks him for Cheats "distance". I was interested to know what he did. I checked on my server only to find the ENTIRE THING was greifed. Everything. Only the admin blocks made it.
Didn't catch his name but got his IP.
The server data file jumped up 15kb from 32kb to 47kb, which is weird because he deleted stuff. The map takes about 4 times longer to load now.
His IP 67.240.72.99
I had a Greifer gate setup and thought he would just leave after seeing it. Its not like I get all parinoid after every person joins so I rush to the server to see who they are. If you do that you are a idiot.
IF you the op, its your fault for negligence in watching him. . . And you should also backup. If your not im terribly sorry to see this happen.
4chan is a site its not responsible for this. . A griefer did this not 4chan. (even though i realllyyyyy hate 4chan)
He obviously came from 4chan, as you can see from the "/v/ wuz here". /v/ is a subforum on 4chan. Though I do agree the site isn't responsible for this, the griefer is. Oh and taking a site as big as 4chan down, good luck.

I thought /v/ came from 99chan, huh... interesting.

I dare to object. As an admin/op, you should be highly interested in keeping your server grief-free. If I dont have the time to check on my server - and there is no op on - I tend to turn the server off. Just to minimalize grief.
You should be paranoid about your map. The map is what makes people stay. If the map is crap, few people will stick around.
Final thought: How are you going to get rid of 4chan? My god, it's like getting rid of the internet. If you dont want grief, make your server private. If you don't want to go private, make sure your server is heavily OPed.
On top of all this i don't even believe this guy.. He took pictures of everything that got griefed... before they got griefed... whose to say he didn't do it himself... really man..
EDIT: Also... my point is: Why would you take pics of something unless you need it...

Those who do.

Sorry to jump in here, but all I see in this thread is an argument over methods of moderation.
As far as "Get rid of 4chan" goes, that's literally impossible. If you got rid of 4chan you'd have to have gottten rid of the internet.
4chan is not the only place with a /v/. There have been several very large threads on 7chan's /v/ about Minecraft, too. I don't know about other *chans or whatever, but there is more than one /v/ out there, same as there is more than one /tg/.

I once OPed for 7chan's unofficial server but, even though they're pretty zany over there, only 4chan would go around establishing grief sieges. They recently attempted to mass grief the official 7chan server, which was detected beforehand by ze spies.
7chan, unlike 4chan, is relatively closed in, while 4chan seeks to spread across just about everywhere. As a 7chan oldfag myself, this knowledge is very handy.
tl;dr IT WAS 4CHAN.

The "before" pictures are technically "after" pictures. He makes it pretty clear that they're from a restored backup.
Anyway, you can't blame the whole of 4chan for one griefer. You've doubtless seen that they have their own servers these days (/v/ - Minecraft, /v/ - Nonsense, /v/ - Dorfin" etc) and these look just like any other public server. If you do have a spawnjail, make sure it's secure, either a 1x1 square, or with a matrix of "bubbles" above it to stop people from glitching out the roof...
I have said "bubbles".

In this thread, today, he says "I do backup". From that it would seem logical to infer that the "before" screens are from a backup...
Though he did not say that... so don't assume anything
They are from a back up the is why some things are completely gone in the before pictures.
This thread wasn't meant to discus how this was not 4chan. I am not wanting to get rid of 4chan on the internet. I simply let everyone know this guy is from 4chan and he is not trusted. I suggest you ban his IP.
I had a Greifer gate setup and thought he would just leave after seeing it. Its not like I get all parinoid after every person joins so I rush to the server to see who they are. If you do that you are a capable op whose server rarely if ever gets griefed, and also a classy human being.

Nope, /v/ is the videogames board from 4chan.

The only time I get that "cheat detected: distance" thing is when I'm on a map that's >1024 blocks long
Contains Pachebel's Canon made with noteblocks, a working Rubik's cube made with pistons, and the ultimate TNT cannon.
or any other chan?
