time for me to start asking newbie questions YAY
I have gone to port forward and done everything listed but I haven't gotten a server IP past the original one given(25565 or something) so my question is what have I missed? PLUS do I really have to buy pfconfigure cause that is not something I am interested in.
There isn't supposed to be an admin folder, unless you mean the admin.txt? If that's the case, you can just create the file and place your username in the text file.
I cant even get into a server nor make one because whenever i try to log into one....its either laggy or i just keeping falling. I have a good comp too....
The website you gave, portforward, doesn't have my modem model, so I followed another modem for the same ISP, and it didn't work. We called our ISP, and they said they don't know how to do it, and that you need a network technician to set it up for us. So... I'm lost. How in the heck do you forward a port? If I forward a localhost port (which I have been successful with) then by my understanding... only people in my LAN network can connect. Since my house has one computer... that's me. I can't forward a remote IP port, it just doesn't work. Can someone get me on the right track with what I need to be doing at all?
Followed the above instructions, and on portforwarding.com but when I enter details into Virtual Server on my routers setup page it gives me the message 'No.6 is invalid! Please correct!'.
No. 6 & 7 are the lines im using for Minecraft, previous ones currently used bt XBLA. Portforwarding.com left the private IP field blank, and made no mention to fill it and so I followed the example.
Any ideas on what's going wrong? I am entering the port number 25565, and selecting TCP first and UDP second.
Have you made a static IP address yet? You need to create a static IP address (i.e. one that doesn't change) and use that with the port you are trying to forward. Otherwise it won't work. You enter the port number, select TCP/UDP (both preferably), and finally enter your static IP. Google 'create static IP' if you don't know how!
The download link offered doesn't appear to have the files you say it does.
I was running a halfway decent server before the most recent update. I tried updating my server with the methods you gave. But seeming as the download didn't include what you mentioned (I think) I was unable to do so.
My train of thought led me to; Delete what server data I had, excluding map data and other various notepad saved data, then download the whole new server itself. Unfortunately, the download STILL didn't have everything I need. So, it didn't work either. Please excuse my noobishness. I do the best I can.
I just discovered that "the board attachment quota has been reached." so this is what was included in the download;
minecraft-server : Executable Jar file
Read me : text document (obvs)
Start server : Windows batch file.
Nevermind, I'll make my own thread and ask for help.

I think you're just retarded, or something.
