Hello, I would like to ask if Minecraft Realms requires and port forwarding
I saw a lot of post about there's no need to port forward for Realms,
but my friends living in the dormitory can't connect unless they use VPN
and I can't find any information about which port does Realms use ( we tried the normal server which works, but can't connect to the Realms service )
Thanks for any advice and comments
For this question I just received the reply from Mojang:

To allow access to Minecraft realms through your firewall the ports that needs to be open are 26000-28000 and port 80 and 443 without destructive proxies. This should be enough and no server IP or hostname is needed.
Not sure if this is the correct place but, about a week and a half ago I decided to start a minecraft server then found bukkit.org so I started a craftbukkit server I have been able to get it started and I run it through bukkitGUI I have also been able to have my friends come on for the past week along with myself but when I went to start my server this morning through bukkitGUI I got this error message:8:43:47 AM [WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!8:43:47 AM [WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind8:43:48 AM [WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port? What should I do I have already portforwarded and like I said it was working but now my server won't even start I have tried to close out of all java proccesses in my task manager, I have already tried to shut down and restart my computer but nothing is working I still get the same message every time.
I believe you have to use a different port because something is using your 25565 port like some torrent thing or other program because i have to use 25566 for a port so it works.
I am having issues with Noton i cant seem to add execptions to the firewall i click add but it dont do any thing at all so do i have to do this on the admin account?
A while back I had a minecraft server working on a few of my friends could get on and play together, but recently I tried to bring it back up, and I can connect with my internal ip.
When I try to connect with my external ip it says it is online. I thought it was a problem with port forwarding, but I checked it it is exactly the same as before with only the difference that the port is on a different ip, because it has changed since last time.
It would really help if I could find the solution.
Hey! I'm pretty sure this is the right place to post this, but it might warrant a whole new thread.....
I need help port forwarding using Google Fiber. Sometime last year they changed their stance on private servers, and I double-checked with their customer service just in case-- I'm definitely cleared to do this.
I had a stable server when I was with AT&T, so I have everything all done the only matter is just getting it hooked up to my new service. One issue I came across was that it said port 25565 either didn't exist or was occupied (by Skype??) I've actually really been dragging my feet about getting this done so this info's like a month old, but I can get all the info needed again in a quick second if I have someone who can help me out.
Hi! I am trying to make a Bukkit server and I have already downloaded and set everything up correctly but for some reason my friends cannot join me. I can join the server myself on my own computer but no one can join me.
I have a modem/router connected to a another router but im not sure if that has anything to do with the problem. I portforwarded everything correctly on both routers and still no luck. Can someone please help me!
I'll try my best to answer any questions you have!
I'm sorry to bother but i seriously don't know whatelse to do, you see this is my case:
I decided to create a minecraft server just to play with a couple of friends, we first decided hamachi but one of our friends had problems with his hamachi, so i decided to try port forwading. The first night i tried and did the normal process, portforward the port 25565 and give my buddies my external ip (xxx.xx.xx.xxx:25565) they got in and we played, it was all perfect and with cero lag. the next day i tried again but for some reason the couldnt get in the server...
i've been trying to fix it but i just cant, i always check my external ip to make sure if it has changed, i already make laptop a static ip, i have been reading and tried stuff like disabling totally my windows firewall, I've tried also making inbound rules for that port in my firewall, also allow the minecraft program and server through the firewall, i already check if im behind 2 routers and im not, also tried to make my laptop ip DMZ, also tried to change the port number in minecraft server properties and in my portforwading settings of my router and NOTHING WORKS, everythime i check if port is open in port checker tools it says is closed or filtered!!!! im totally desperate, i really like minecraft but i cant make it work to play with my friends and that sucks.... if anyone have any advice you can give me i'll be pleased to here about it.
BTW it bothers me because the first time it worked so there must be something i have to do to make it work. sorry if my english is not perfect.
I've tried everything with the Arris DG860A. I've tried time and time again to port forward it since I've had this thing and been unable to. I've successfully port forwarded in the past, but just can't get it to work on here. I'd absolutely love some help here. There's nothing simple like a "Port forwarding" section. It's **** like "Virtual Servers". "DHCP Client Lists", etc. Nothing that's really covered in the guides I've read. Even a screenshot guide for the modem/router itself failed. I'm at a loss and would love some help. Someone who could help walk me through it if they've had to port forward with the same modem/router. :/
Open up task manager, if you ran a server without a GUI it may be running in the background. Check for processes called "javaw.exe" and terminate them.(Make sure you are not running the Minecraft Client, that one is called javaw too)
Whenever I try to type my Default Gateway into my browser, it dos not work. It simply doesn't load, on any one (I even tried IE...Yuck.). I have an Arris router. Can anyone possibly help at all?

I have a minecraft bukkit server and it has been portforwarded but yesterday my friends whereat able to connect but me and my brother where able to. This happened right when they got off to do things and when they got back they couldn't connect to the server. I use ethernet and the internet wasn't out. I tried reportforwarding the server but nothing happened. I tried to restart it and still nothing. I check my IP on IP chicken and whatmyip and it was still the same. my DNS is SCU.us.to but some of my friends connect with the IP which is 76.110.190.230:25565. Is there a way to fix this without messing up the router, changing the IP, changing the DNS, or corrupting the server. PLEASE HELP! I use a Windows 8 and my server has been portforwarded before. This happened yesterday night
Port-forwarding is not a simple process, and we have decided a "megathread" over it is not something that we should have done. If you need assistance port-forwarding, please make a new thread in this sub-section so you can get better support.
Would somebody do me a quick favor and let me know if this:
203.123.87.94
is working? That would be wonderful,
Otherwise I'm totally stumped
