I really need help.
I was able to play all the server like desiredcraft and woodycraft(sorry if this is promotion). But the next day i kept getting the message 'java.net.connectexception connection timed out no further information' its been going on since yesterday.
Im able to enter certain server that are 1.7.2. Im sure the server is up because my friend is still able to enter the server. I have enabled java and minecraft through firewall and i have tried redownloading minecraft thrice.
I have been googling the problem and there were some ways that were working for others. I tried them but they didnt work. Many of the cure was for window users and almost all of them were able to solve the problem. Im currently using window 7. Is there a cure for this?
Yea, I'm getting the same thing. I was trying to do some testing on Bukkit 1.7.2 and I just get "Internal Exception: java.IOException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" when I try to log on. The 1.6.2 server on the same machine works fine. Yes, they are on different ports.
You guys found something out I have the same issue. A friend of mine played with me yesterday and today he can not join my server. I have a hamachi network, and he enabledjava (it is also up2date) but all he gets is this message: javanetconnectexception-connection-timed-out-no-further-information
We checked all kind of guides and forum topics but we still have no clue, how this whole situation came up. It worked yesterday, but today it is not working.
I found my answer. It was a firewall issue. I was doing some testing, and I used port 21, and my computer didn't like it - even with the firewall turned completely off. I changed it the port to 3333 and everything connected fine with no changes to the firewall.
Step 1: Go to control panel (i use vista so try and follow along)
Step 2: Go to windows firewall
Step 3: Click allow programs through firewall
Step 4: Add port TCP 25565
Step 4: Add port UDP 25565 (Names don't matter)
i hope this helps for everyone, if not i also found this thread here that fixed alot of peoples errors:
More specifics on this. You need to go to advanced settings on your firewall to make TCP and UDP rules.
1. Open control panel
2. Windows firewall -> Advanced settings
3. Click inbound rules
4. In the left collumn should be the new rule option
5. Make a port rule and create both a TCP and UDP rule, both on local port 25565 (or whatever port you use)
6. In the action section, click "allow the connection"
7. Keep everything checked for where the rule applies
8. Name it something you will remember and specify which is the TCP and UDP rule.
Adding TCP and UDP rules like this just fixed my server for 1.7.9 which I was having issues with yesterday. Hope this helps.

This doesn't seem to work for my, ive everything but nothing seems to work, could this problem be due to a slow internet connection?
I havent replied here in a while lol. But I'm having the exact same problem AGAIN except for my 1.7.10 server.
To all of you trying to run and play please make sure you've done everything on this list.
1. Port forwarding. Go to this website to get specific instructions on how to do that for your router.
2. Leave the "server-ip=" option in your server properties file blank, make sure the "server-port=25565" is the same unless you're using a different port.
3. Make sure your friends have your current IP address which you can find here
4. Check to see if port 25565 (or whatever port youre using) is open here
5. Make sure you allow app through the windows firewall (Java in this case) make sure it is checked and is marked both private and public.
6. Add TCP and UDP rules to your firewall (go back a page to see steps or look up a video)
I'm trying to figure out why my port isn't open at the moment but just take time to look at those things. Its good to know how to do some of this in case you ask for help elsewhere
Yesterday the servers were not working so I tried adding a new rule and did Outbound>New Rule>Port>TCP>25565>Allow Connections>(All selected) and added a name. And turns out it worked without the UDP.
Today I tried connecting a server and it didn't work, so I tried the same steps as above and unfortunately it still did not work, so I tried doing UDP as well as inbound TCP/UDP as you guys said and it still did not work.
I don't know what to do! This is on Minecraft 1.7.10. Please help me
I also use vista and yet this doesn't work for me. I need a different solution at I'm trying to connect to a server that is in 1.8-pre1. But I didnt have this problem yesterday so I don't know why I can't now
I'm going to bump this thread again. I've scoured the internet for a couple of hours now and many people are having this issue, but there haven't been any solutions posted, really.
