So I have a Hamachi Minecraft server, but for some reason my friends could not connect. I tried disabling my firewall (Windows Firewall) and then they were able to get on. However, when I turn it back on they can't again. How do I just my Firewall settings so that it lets people get on without totally disabling my firewall?
Please be simple with me because I am a noob to this Thanks.
These are one of the top questions and things about servers and ports...
This is how to open a port with windows firewall (you may want to increase it to 480p to see the text clearly

Iwant to use Hamachi. I do not want to try to Port-forward (believe me, I tried) so please don't tell me how to do port-forwarding stuff.
1. Simple go to your start button type in Windows Firewall With advanced security.
2. Click inbound rules
3. On the right click new rule
4. Click next with "program" Selected.
5. Click browse and locate your program. (In this case you have hamachi)
6. Click "Allow the Connection" Then click next.
7. Make sure Public is selected and click next.
8. Give it a name and click finish.
9. You should be good to go anymore questions let me know.

Technically, That IS port forwarding, and it's exactly the one in the video
http://windows.micro...indows-firewallFollow the instructions there. For the programs that you want to allow you would have to check hamachi. If you want to attempt actual port-forwarding though to avoid the hamachi stuff then simply PM me and I can help you out.
That's what I first tried, and it doesn't work. No one is able to connect to my private server, despite being in my Hamachi.
To let only one program through the firewall, I had to add it to the list found in "Allow a Program or feature through Windows Firewall." That's what I had originally thought, but it turns out my problem was that Java, although being on the list, wasn't being allowed for some reason.
To fix this, remove Java.exe from the list of programs (I think it's called "Java(TM) Platform SE binary" in the list) that are allowed through your firewall. Then add it back on again. When you start up your Minecraft server the next time a pop up message should appear on your screen asking confirmation for allowing Java through your firewall. Click yes, and Viola! Problem solved!

As I said in the original post: Windows Firewall http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-firewall
