My girlfriend and I love playing Minecraft together, but she doesn't have an account, so I set the server on offline mode so she can join and stuff. That's what we used to do but then the computer got a faulty hard drive so we sent it in. A few days ago we received it again and decided to play some Minecraft. We did the exact same procedure to joining, but she got "Connection: refused." Whitelist isn't enabled, I don't have anything in the server IP in server.properties, and my port is forwarded, not that it matters considering it's a local host. I don't know if anyone else can join it. I haven't tried. I've joined it on this computer, but on the laptop, we can't join. Any help please?
Well I host the server using the server.exe thing and my IP did change, but we connect by doing localhost so that shouldn't matter. I even tried with new IP and it didn't work.
Well you cannot both connect using localhost. Only the person playing on the same PC as the one hosting the server can. But you are unable to connect using localhost?
Does the console return any errors when the server is running? And post what it displays when you attempt to connect to it.
Well my computer can connect to it by localhost, but the other computer can't connect even using the public IP address. And when I try to connect, all it says is "/.numbers lost connection." Should I post the numbers?
