It's been about a year now since I have had trouble with this problem with trying to get my mine craft server to open port "25565" again. Nothing has worked and no one has helped. I really need some Mine Craft Genius or Port Forwarding fellow to help me. I have no where left to turn to but here and so far no one has helped me or gave me any good good guidance.
I went to 192.168.1.1 and entered in all of the required port forwarding information. I followed this guide EXACTLY!!!
Nothing worked. I went into my firewall and checked allowed mine craft in. Nothing worked. I then went into firewall porting and went to inbound and made new rules and nothing worked. I followed all of these steps exactly.
I even.......system formatted my computer and lost my entire servers data to try and play again. It failed. ((
I don't know why it used to work and all the sudden it stopped working. I am using "Multiplayer_server". I am following all of the instructions exactly and it does not work. I doubt my ISP blocked it if it worked once before. Also, what can be done?
Please, help me someone.
EDIT: 5/20/2012 MY PORT IS STILL CLOSED AND THERE IS STILL NO HELP!!!. WHY!?!??!
Did you bother to read my post or did you simply just jump to assumptions? I already stated " I went into my firewall". It's amazing how I have to wait a whole day and the only source of assistance I am given is one post. This forum support is ridiculously useless if there are never any dedicated people.
I "fancy" being answered on my thread. Over 40 people are are reading this or are going to read this and have no helped. This is ridiculous how people scroll through threads and don't even bother to help. OVER 40 people scrolled!!!!!
You gave us an amazing amount of information for usual forum threads...
I could however use your operating system and PC specs, sometimes those are a factor
It was a few months back before I reformatted the computer, it was working the previous night, when I walk up... the ports were open for some reason. I didn't know why and I didn't know how. All I know is that now they are closed and they won't open. Nothing is working and for about a year now I have had to deal with it without anyone helping me. Even Mojang email.
I did exactly everything you said and it still isn't working. I did all of the directions from port forwarding.com and it isn't working. What is the problem? It used to work in the past and now it doesnt.
What other solutions can be done? Not even the automatic ones are working.
alot of things that may help
1.Private Ip can be wrong sometimes routers dont check for that
2.Firewall is blocking port 25565
3.Make sure you dont have any anti viruses doing the same thing as firewall such as mcafee
4.Make sure the Server.properties file has ur server ip right such as 192.168.1.1 or what ever it is
5.Unless you have a static ip your ip will change that means you have a Dynamic IP and it will change to protect your computer from hackers =)
6.If none of these work its probably ur router

"You wont be saying that on the other side of the TnT :3"
So, turns out, I installed 64 bit java onto my computer and the port is now open. READ THIS, when I start up Multiplayer_server and load up minecraft, I type in my server and it says failed to connect? What am I doing wrong?
is local host for online connection or just LAN and local area? I'm trying to open this to play online with friends. However, I'm typing in my current IP and it is failing to connect.
