I saw on an AntVenom video he was testing out MCWIN10 Edition and he edited some files to make his view distance SUPER long.
I wanna do this with my old computer but make it much shorter so I dont get so much choppyness.
SO what files do i edit to do this? It is possible cause antvenom did it.
If you want to make your view distance shorter, you don't need to "edit files".
Just adjust the Render Distance slider in Options.
However, that's what that option is suppose to do. But it doesn't work for me. I get max draw distance regardless. With 15.4 they "Increased draw distance for Win 10 edition" (We're now at 15.6). I don't know, they may have disabled the "draw distance" option on purpose as most of us want all draw distance we can handle. In your case, though, your "old computer" can't handle it.
You know what the problem is, and eventually you'll have to fix it. Win10 (and all your other programs) will appreciate it.
Ok watched and tried. It seems I cant have anything open over MCWIN10 Edition. What happens is when I open the notepad file MCWIN10 minimizes to the taskbar and whenever I click it up it refreshes. Otherwise it seems this would work. SO now my question is, how do I keep MCWIN10 from minimizing whenever I click on something else.
I wouldn't try to run Win10 at the same time. You'll probably have to restart Win10 anyway before the changes take effect. (BTW, mine stays open. Go figure.)
Ok now I tried that. I had MCWIN10 closed, then I open the file that lets me edit the views distance and then open MCWIN10 again, and what happens is it resets the view distance in the file back to 128. What do I do?
There's the Hard Way:
* The save file has to be saved with the exact same name as the old file, extension and all. Save it to a new location, ie "Documents".
* Move the old file to the trash (but don't delete it, "just in case" you need to restore it).
* Copy the saved file to the same previous location the old file was in.
Or the Easy Way:
* The save file has to be saved with the exact same name as the old file, extension and all.
* Save it to the same location as the old file. (Note, the old file will be deleted, as in gone for good!)

My computer runs MCWIN10 on the lowest distance but it is fairly choppy. (It is playable but it gets on my nerves.)
But I know there is a way I can lower the min view distance by editing files but I dont know how to do it.
So thats what I need help with.
This video shows you how to do it (briefly, but it does show the file to edit).

Don't know. I got nothing. Maybe someone else knows and will chime in.
It could be that 128 is the minimum allowed.
Crud
Nvm it doesnt seem that that is the problem. If I even try to make it bigger it still goes back to 128.
Sounds like you're not saving it after you make the change or you're not really overwriting it.
I click save and then close it. If im not overwriting it right how do I overwright it right?
The same way you overwrite any file.

What do you mean by extensions?
And it still wont work! I tried both ways but it keeps reverting back to 128! Even when I try to make the number bigger!
I'm not there, I can't see what you're doing (or not doing).
Sorry, but I don't know how to help you any further.
If you want I can make a video tomorrow showing you what im doing?
