So, every time I launch the Windows 10 Minecraft Edition, it kills my sound, to everything. All I hear is an extremely ear shattering static sound and after closing the Windows 10 Minecraft Edition I have to restart just about every other application to have sound again.
My specs -
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Intel Core i5-4570
MSI Twin Frozr R9 280x
Kingston Hyperx Fury 8GB
Razer Kraken 7.1
All of my drivers are up to date and work perfectly fine with everything else. Windows 10 Minecraft Edition runs very well and the sound quality is..well, terrible. So terrible it breaks just about everything else that uses sound .-. lol
Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this or anyone else having this issue? Or do I need to wait for a fix?
I also just noticed that MSI has released Windows 10 drivers for their MSI Z87-G45 motherboard. I'll install these drivers and let you know if it helped.
Alright, so the problem is related to my Razer Kraken 7.1 headset. If I use speakers it's perfectly fine. Soo the least to say, is that some sound software will mess with Minecraft Windows 10 Edition for now. I've got the latest drivers for my headset and the latest Razer Synapse software. So there seems to be some incompatibility issues with sound software if you have any.
Ah finally, a thread that shows up on google of the same issue.
I have the same issue, and your post confirms the constants of:
> Razer Synapse
> Razer Kraken 7.1
I searched for a bugs page for this edition of minecraft but no avail (only a suggestions page?).
Tested this on n550jv laptop and two desktops and two separate razer kraken 7.1's. Still the same static noise through the headset. My guess was razer synapse is buggy, but everyone knows that anyways. Current ghetto fix is to just disable the sound of the program in synapse while my ears get gutted by the sound. I have a feeling this fault is on razer, however. would be nice if I had more synapse headsets to test with. Drivers are completely fine, as far as I've compared.
I thought I was the only one with this problem, every time I open Minecraft Windows 10 edition, there is ear-killing static sound. I restarted my laptop a couple of times and there was no fix. I removed my Headphone, but there was still a static sound.
Same problem as soon as i run the game my razer headset just start ZISIZIZIISHIZHIZHISHSZIHIZH.
freaking annoying
and if i minimize minecraft the sounds stops, maximizing brings back again the noise.
Ok i found a fix go to
1 Recording Devices in the audio mixer -> 2 Right click your headset> 3 Properties > 4 On Advanced Tab change CD quality to DVD quality on the dropdown menu
After fiddling with my audio settings, I've found that on lower frequency, it has horrible noises that blast your ears, however, when I went to my audio playback devices, and set it to 192000Hz (Studio quality) the sound worked every 2nd or 3rd time I opened it, as for the other times, sound was not present at all. This new minecraft seems to have some major sound issues.
Ya, just restarting the game constantly until it doesn't do it is the only way to avoid the problem. Just keep restating until you get lucky...Kind of like RNG lol

I so can't play it like this.
Glad to know that I am not alone. I tested other games from the Windows Store but it was only Minecraft. Hopefully Mojang finds a fix for this.
Hi,
This issue may be caused by faulty audio drivers, and may be resolved by updating them.
If you're having the issue please create a DxDiag report by pressing the Win+R keys and typing in "dxdiag" and selecting OK.
Then select "Save all information" and save it wherever you wish, open this file and copy everything inside.
Go to https://gist.github.com/ and paste the text into the big box and, select "Create Secert Gist" and give us the link to which it takes you to.
I responded to your other thread.

I can safely say, that the new drivers did not help. Hope they find a fix for this!

this, actually, never happens to me when I play minecrafft windows 10 edition, but when I play Geometry Dash on the PC.
Make sure to check out my modpack: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/mod-packs/2496837-the-exploring-modpack-by-dragonslayer675
I had this problem only when playing with my Razer Kraken plugged in via USB. Had to restart, but it played just fine without the headphones.
I know it plays fine without the headset. But I need the headset lol

I have Razer Synapse, no issue. Must be the Kraken.

I have the same exact headset and it is doing the same exact thing, i tried to update drivers as well but it did nothing for me.
Thanks for posting the fix
Doesn't work for me, says the device does not support this format =(
Well it randomly decided to work, then I closed the program and then started it back up... There go my ears! QQ
