I have also tried switching files , uninstalling and reinstalling, next step is to try and find a zlib program to try and change the location of my alt back to default.
Now that I think about it, install PocketInvEditor and reset your Y value to 130. It can be accomplished under Edit World Info -> Move Player.
You will likely die in the fall, but hopefully you will respawn in the right place.
or just inveditor (android) to change the data files to kill yourself

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much. I downloaded a minecraft editor pro that I bought from the amazon store for $1.75. I was able to get the coordinates from my hubby's character. With much fighting with it, I finally was able to get back to the original spawn point for my seed. I was able to get back to my 5 story house floating in the air. You saved the day. Thank you Thank you...
the top floor of my house is currently at 608 but I was intended to build higher- btw since one cannot fly in survival mode, it is instant death to fall off during construction as I am not over water
Yeah the thing you were walking on was the invisible bedrock barrier.

I was in my house, and just suddenly died with no monsters, nothing, just saw all my hearts go, and then respawned under water in the middle of the ocean. I swam to shore only to be killed by a herd of zombies, then I was under water in the middle of the ocean again. My house where I spawned before is in the mountains with trees and snow nowhere near the ocean. This is upsetting to me, because I downloaded this game because it is my 10 year old nephew's favorite game. I moved to New Zealand and this was going to be our cool way to keep in touch. I spent two weeks getting everything perfect, he finally entered my world, only for me to die, and I can't find my way back, nor can he find me. He was so disappointed. I've spent two days trying to find my way back posting cobblestones with torches, and can't find the house. I went to report this as a bug, because I respawned under the ocean. The guy responded by email that my help request was denied because it was basically not relevant. Is there any way to get help from the Minecraft personnel to get someone back to their intended location? My nephew loves this game, and I love him very much. I would like to continue being the cool aunt, if i could just get back to my house. Please help.

Yes it is. I just started making my home at the nearest mountain. I am using my IPAD for the minecraft pocket edition.
Well, I'm not Minecraft/Mojang support but the good news is that I may be able to help you get back home. The bad news is that it will take some work because you are on an iPad. You will have to set up a temporary base of operations so build yourself a small house to keep yourself safe and a bed if you have some wool available so you can work mostly in the daytime. The objective here is for you to build a compass. For that you will need 4 iron pieces and 1 piece of redstone. So Here is what you need to do:
Gather materials to build a house and bed
Build a wooden pickaxe and gather some cobblestone
Build a stone pickaxe and a sword to protect yourself from the mobs
Look for some coal to make torches
Find a cave and mine iron ore and redstone
Build a furnace to smelt the iron
Build a compass
There may be some small steps missing there but you should provide you a rough idea of what you need to do.
The compass points back to your original start point. As long as you follow the direction of the compass you should find your way home.
I know this probably wasn't what you were looking for but since you're lost and can't use PocketInvEditor on your iPad, this may be your only choice unless you start over.
Oh thank you very much! I already made the weapons, and have the furnace and stuff. I did not know about the compass. I will start mining right away. I've made it to a snowy part that has baby wolves walking around, so hopefully it won't be long. I made iron ore before, but is the red stone what I would use the stonecutter to turn into granite? Thank you again so much, and it hope to be back before this weekend so we can try again!
I googled red stone, could not find it. Went in caves, places with lava, only iron ore, coal, and gold. No red stone. It's a shame that the makers truly don't care if there's bugs or not, and so unwilling to help. On the websites, red stone is everywhere by lava or iron ore. No such luck for me, and I spent quite a lot of time digging. Very disappointed in this game.

I honestly don't think it's a matter of them not caring... this issue you are having is truly a difficult bug to track because it's hard to reproduce. I have on rare occasions found myself outside when the last time I played I was in a cave. Luckily for me, it did not place me very far away so I always found my way back, but again that doesn't happen to often. When I started this thread and I was way up in the sky, that issue was easy to reproduce hence easy to fix.
Redstone is definitely available. Keep searching the caves. I have filled up one of my chests almost halfway just with red stone. I have come across monstrous cave systems that seem to go on forever and I always run into a lot of redstone. Try different caves and don't give up.
You were right. I went further into the cave, found the red stone, made the compass, and got back home. only now I have red stone, lots of iron, and a gold bar to put in the chests. Thank you so much. Just in time to try multi player again this weekend!
I'm glad it worked out. Now you can get back to being the cool aunt. Have fun!
P.S. I was thinking about what originally killed you. Before your nephew connects to your world, make sure his difficulty setting matches yours when playing in survival mode. If you are going to play in Normal difficulty (mobs spawning) make sure he is also on normal. If you are going to play in peaceful difficulty, do the same for him. There is a bug where if one of you is set to normal and the other is set to peaceful the person with the peaceful setting is attacked by invisible monsters. I hope you can avoid being stuck in the middle of nowhere again.
Yes that's exactly what it looked like, as if invisible monsters were killing me. He's on creative mode, and I was on difficult survival mode. do you know if the PE has Experience points? I just found an abandoned mineshaft, lots of gold, but not sure how to find out how many experience points I have? I want to make enchantments, but I see no bar at the bottom, and I haven't seen any orbs.
I had the same problem. After struggling with it for a few minutes i realized that if you walk on space and not over land you will not fall. If you walk until you find a large body of water on the edge you will be able to fall into the body of water and survive.
Now that I think about it, install PocketInvEditor and reset your Y value to 130. It can be accomplished under Edit World Info -> Move Player.

I experienced the same thing. Now I am curious how high you are. If you use PocketInvEditor, see what your Y value is.

Did you happen to notice what your Y value was?
Is your house near your original spawn point?
Are you on iOS or Android?
