I have a map that I generated back on beta 1.2 I still use it, complementing the various buildings.
The problem is that at the time this map was generated, minecraft didn't have any villages or anything else in it yet. At the moment when exporting the world settings to another one you can see that the generation of villages and buildings is disabled. As a result, there are no raids or other related activities. Once, I don't know why, a village was generated on my map about 7 years ago, but it was blown up at the moment :).
The command "/locate village" just hangs out and the whole world kicks out after a while. Also no other buildings are generated.
Can you please tell me if there is any way to make the generation of buildings turn on and my whole world is still the same, but new buildings have started to appear in the new non-generated zones?
The question is first of all for the developers of the game itself, if they are here.
I can give you my map for trying something (it is 2gb).
I tried to create a new world with my seed. In the data folder of my world there is a file called villages.dat with 0 incoming entities.
In the new world, after very fast execution of the locate village command, the file did not appear. When I teleported there and saved the world, the file did not appear either. I suspect that this file has been there since one of the old versions and is no longer in use.
But for example, there is a fortress.dat file with 3 entities in it, but the locate fortress command says that there are no such buildings nearby.
The bottom line is that any buildings are generated and the corresponding locate commands are executed instantly, except for village search.
Hello everyone!

I think I found minecraft nbt explorer for myself and changed the generation of buildings there for 1.
I'll try this.
I think it didn't help, as I still can't execute the command locate village. It hangs out.
Does this meann that it really works? is this a structure?
