I've been playing Minecraft for several years now with pretty much no issues running it, but a few days ago it started killing my computer. It takes a few minutes for the launcher to even open up and then another ten to fifteen minutes between hitting the green PLAY button and the game even starting. And from there, it's generally another five minutes to open up the main menu. If I try to alt+tab over to another window while playing Minecraft, everything (including Google!) lags for a good ten minutes. Even quitting the game, I generally have to purposefully crash it (sometimes with Task Manager) and it'll be a few minutes until everything works properly again. I don't know what's happening to me; I haven't downloaded anything or messed with files I shouldn't have. Also, it's just Minecraft; when I'm not trying to play it everything is fine, task manager very rarely displays a problem (though Memory sometimes goes up to around 90%). And it's affecting ALL of my versions; I play on both 1.15 and 1.8.9 (with seperate folders; I have a folder named LatestRelease for 1.15 and one named Hypixel for 1.8.9, they're completely separate and independent). While playing Minecraft, my task manager displays Disk and Memory at 100%. Does anyone know what the problem is for me? I'd appreciate thoughts.
NOTE: I've dedicated 3x the normal amount of RAM to both of my versions of Minecraft.
Malwarebytes ADWCleaner is an utility to clean a PC which is infested with malware.
Download it here: https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/adwcleaner
Run a Scan, remove any malware found, restart the computer.
More RAM does not mean more FPS, it's a myth.

Odd, I've run MalwareBytes pretty recently and it didn't show anything. Don't remember downloading except a mod from curseforge in that time, but I'll definitely try. Thanks for the information.
