Alright, first thread! Okay, so the reason I'm writing this is because I just got a brand new Windows 10 that I was really excited about. But when I went to go play Minecraft, the game just randomly crashed. I've tried everything; scan with adwcleaner, changing java executable to on, and checking my graphics driver.
Anyway, when I hit play, it prepares and finalizes like normal, but then it closes and opens back up say that an unexpected error has occured and stuff. It doesn't even show the game itself.
Anything can help, if you can. Seriously, if you can fix this, you deserve a veterans discount.

Use 64 bit Java when allocating more than 1.5 GB of RAM to Minecraft.

Use the default version of Java which comes with the game to avoid this very issue (it should correctly identify your OS) - you shouldn't need to install Java just to play Minecraft. If you already are and it is installing 32 bit Java for some reason this sounds like an issue for the official bug tracker (in this case you should then install the correct version (Windows x64, second to last link), assuming that you do in fact have 64 bit, but I'd expect most if not all new computers to be 64 bit these days. Otherwise you'll have to allocate less memory, -Xmx1G, and if that isn't enough for 1.15 your computer, new or not, isn't good enough to run newer versions).

So... How do I do that? I'm not good with Windows...

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
