Was getting a C++ abnormal program termination error as seen below, and ran through the following:
-repairing & reinstalling all C++ Redistros 2005-2019
-repairing & reinstalling .net 3.5 framework
-reinstalling minecraft from .msi and .exe options
-cleaning registry
-updating gpu driver
-updating windows
-running as admin
-running in compat mode for previous editions of windows
-installing in different directories
-installing in different hard drives
Eventually found that while logged in as another user, or while running the program as another user while logged in as the main user, both allow the game to run. Which is better than nothing, but sucks, and concerns me if there's longer reaching issues this could stem into. Microsoft support suggested an in-place upgrade install for windows 10, tried that, now instead of the error, attempting to launch minecraft just does nothing. However running the game as another user still works.
