I've owned minecraft for a long time now, ever since beta came out.
I had been playing on the original login method (no mojang account, just username and password)
When mojang accounts came out i didn't bother migrating because i saw no need to and it didn't seem to change anything, so i just continued to log in as i always had done.
However recently i got an email stating that my account had been migrated automatically on release day of 1.15
When 1.15 first came out however, i could log in with my legacy account, but something was wrong. I could not log into my online server without it being in offline mode. I thought nothing of it and just assumed i hadn't connected to the minecraft servers properly.
The next day i tried to log in and it failed. I was going to try and reset my password which was when i noticed this email:
Hi,
We’ve just migrated your Minecraft account into a Mojang account. If you requested this, well done! You don’t need to do anything else.
However, if you didn’t request this change, there may be issues with the security of your account. We recommend you get in contact with Mojang support at http://help.mojang.com/

I was a little surprised at first because i thought i had to do this myself, but i guess mojang did it for me.
So i tried using my email instead of username but it still failed.
I tried asking for a password reset but no email was sent to me.
I tried migrating myself just to see what would happen, but it states: Error! Your Minecraft account has already been migrated to a Mojang http://account.Go to the log in page and use your e-mail address to login.
Why did mojang do this without my consent? I am unable to log in now because of this. I can still play offline mode but i won't be able to join any server.
as the email suggests, your account probably has been stolen and you need to go ask for help in help.mojang.com. Mojang has never done anything like this and probably never will.

I wasn't sure if this had happened to anyone else, been waiting almost a week now with my ticket though. Anyone have an idea as to how long it takes for them to reply?

One thing i don't understand, how does this happen? I'm always safe online, never share passwords with anyone and i'm not the type to fall for scams or anything like that. I've never entered my login details anywhere other than the official site and the game launcher.

Guys mojang FINALLY responded.
But they keep sending me the same automated message over and over. They keep telling me to reply with the email i used for my account, which i did. They keep asking me to send my transaction ID which i do. I explained to them the situation that it wasn't migrated by me.
They sent me the same email back like 6 times now. What do i do?
But i am speaking to mojang. Yet it seems to be going nowhere. I gave them the stuff they asked for and just sent the exact same email back. I'm so confused right now. Maybe someone else who went through this process can tell me what they did.

The email account you used when you purchased (registered with MC). If you no longer have/use that account or you were hacked and someone changed your account information, that is also a problem ONLY Mojang can help you with.
No one here is mocking you (Tails1 is one of the most helpful people here)!
NO ONE on any forum can help you either!!!
ONLY Mojang (and there is a large backlog)!!! You may need to prove payment for the original game.
Complaining, posting here, or any forum is a waste of everyone's time and will not remedy your problem.

All i want them to do is reset my password or something so i can log in again.

Complaining about it here won't change anything, if you're not satisfied with someone's support you tell them directly, not complain on an unrelated forum.

1-2 months right now due to backlog. Keep in mind that's just an estimate as I don't have access to the actual length of the backlog
