My cursor shows the little loading icon when I double click on it, but the launcher doesn't launch. I checked the task manager and the launcher shows up there for a few seconds before disappearing.
The only way I can seem to fix it is by deleting .minecraft. But when I start the launcher and then the game, quit, and then try to start the launcher again, it stops working.

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
Nope. I tried both ADWCleaner and what that forum said about removing the launcher_skins.json file and setting Minecraft in and out of compatibility mode, and it still didn't work.
I do remember the launcher giving me an error about the skins, but I never gave it too much thought.
Wait for a new update or until a solution is found.
