Hiya - I'm having a weird issue with FPS decreasing in Minecraft; when the world is loaded, the game initially runs at about 100FPS. Within about 5 minutes, it's dropped to 30 - perfectly playable, but a bit annoying considering the computer can evidently handle higher frame rates. If I change the render distance, either up or down, the FPS "resets" back to the initial high value, and then gradually drops again. I'm running 1.7.10, with Optifine and some other small mods installed.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what's causing this, and whether there is a fix?

Any thoughts on this? It's pretty irritating, albeit still playable
