The mods version MUST match the MC / Forge version. If your first Profile was 1.7.10, the mods have to be 1.7.10. If the versions don't match, Forge won't load them.

1.12.2 mods requires Forge 1.12.2 with Minecraft 1.12.2.

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
Hmmmm, that still seems like you are accidentally trying to use mismatching versions of those mods and Forge. Launch the game and wait until you get to the main menu, then quit the game, navigate to your .minecraft folder, and copy the log from the latest.log file located in .minecraft/logs and paste it into paste.ubuntu.com. Click the "paste!" button, then post the link to the page that you are taken to here.
That's it, but that's only a part of the log, not the entire log. Can you see the "mods" button on your main menu?
Example:
If so, click on it, then click on the "open mods folder" button. Once your mods folder opens, post each of the (entire) file names located in that folder here.

it seems like Sarium, the God of Chaos returned....

Where are you putting your mods? Did you select the correct Forge profile in your launcher?

1.12.2 mods requires Forge 1.12.2 with Minecraft 1.12.2.
You cannot mix versions. They both have to match.

Post the list of mods that you're using and their versions. Plus, could you please elaborate on what "didn't work" means? Does the game crash?
