Recently I have noticed that I am starting to have trouble running a lot of mods, right now I have around 160 installed, but I used to be able to run 250+ no sweat. I put together a collection of mods that I was going to use to start a LAN playthrough with my brother. However whenever I loaded into a new world it always ran super slow, almost like very low TPS that one might find on a busy survival server like 2b2t.
Some of the things include:
-Breaking a block makes it disappear, after a delay it drops the item, or places the block back.
-Attacking mobs doesn't damage them until after a delay.
-damage is not taken until after a delay
-items/xp are not picked up until after a delay
-cannot respawn until after a delay
-eating food does not give hunger until after a delay.
-opening chests/doors does not work until after a delay.
-etc
This all happens to both of us when my brother is online, and it also happens when im in singleplayer on my own. I started removing mods to see if it went away and sure enough, after going through my mods I found that Forestry seemed to cause the problem, so I removed forestry and all its addons and everything worked fine in our world, until an hour ago. Just now it started again, out of nowhere. We have had this world going for about a week now and this weird TPS issue is getting old, any Ideas?
btw I just realised something when logging on to get the F3 screenshot, it seems that it only lags whenever I go out to the mainland (we got an island start) this is odd though because my brother has been to the mainland without me and everything was fine, and other dimensions as far as I can tell work fine. Both of us have been to the Twilight Forest with no issues, when I logged on I was on the island and it was working fine, went back to mainland and it happened again, went back to island and the lag was still there and relogging did not fix it. Dunno what to do at this point.
i have had modded worlds take up to 8GB RAM before so i just jacked it up so i wouldn't run out. Reason 2 because i can and it doesn't impact anything. Reason 3 when sending screenshots of F3 to friends for coords etc, its funny to hear their reactions over discord lol.
I just tried running it with these different allocation values: 12GB, 8GB, 6GB, 4GB
I don't know if this was just from variations in my testing but it seemed that 8GB ran slightly better than 12GB but still unplayable. the results of 6GB and 4GB were abysmal. It had a much larger delay than the others, but then again it could just be variations in what is happening in the world, especially considering how inconsistent it is.
I just found out that it appears to only occur whenever we go on the mainland (we got an island spawn) is there anything added in any of the mods listed above that could be causing the lag? (we have been to 3 villages on water and 2 battletowers on water with no lag so probs not any mods associated with those) Another thing to mention is that it is probably not tied to lots more terrain to load in because we have been to the Nether and Twilight Forest and neither of those places lag, so whatever is causing it is only in the overworld.

Yes, but since you're using no more that 3gigs of heap, why allocating 12GB? O_O

having too much ram actually makes minecraft lag, so it does impact something, i suggest go lowering it down gb by gb till it stops lagging
what is happening?
what what what
it seems like Sarium, the God of Chaos returned....
oh no
I have run it without lag before at 12 but when i get home ill be sure to try lowering it.

Any other ideas?
