It doesn't recognize them as just jar files either. I've tried 4 different modpacks on twitch and it still crashes. I've used multiple tutorials and nothing is working. This is not worth the frustration.
So I found one problem is I need more RAM allocated to minecraft. I've looked up how to do that and it says to go under "launch options" but I've been all through my launcher and I don't see anything like that. Is there a simple way to do this?
Can someone other than this guy give some advice? I've been all over these forums the last few days and for the most part he is no help and he is definitely not helping me. I need to know how to allocate more ram to minecraft with the current launcher.
Could you post a screenshot with the F3 debug screen enabled? Also, what did you do to fix the problem that you were having earlier (just for future members that look at this thread)?
In order to change my ram I had to open my launcher, go to installations, click on the triple dots next to the one I was using, go to edit, go to more options at the bottom left, and under JVM arguments change Xmx()g value to how many gigs of ram i wanted to allocate, where () is the value. I could only find how to change it from old launchers everywhere else. From what everyone said it is not good to put it to high as that would cause more lag. Mine is set at 4g but still freezing intermittently.

If I knew what that meant I could fix it myself. Didn't think I'd have to point that out.
You're not supposed to extract jar files, you just put them in the mods folder.
It doesn't recognize them as just jar files either. I've tried 4 different modpacks on twitch and it still crashes. I've used multiple tutorials and nothing is working. This is not worth the frustration.

Mate, the crash report isn't RAM related, it's because you've extracted jar files, eventhough you aren't supposed to do it.

I figured it out. I finally got it working but now the game freezes for about a second or 2 all the time. Anyone know how to fix this?

This is ridiculous. I move a tile, freeze, turn a little, freeze, start breaking a block, freeze. It's completely unplayable.
Update Forge. Some versions of Forge for 1.12.2 caused massive lag.
