I'd really love some help getting Minecraft working on my laptop. OS is up-to-date. Yes, I know it's a weird amalgamation of a machine that probably shouldn't function, but this has been my only issue with this setup. I've tried multiple versions of Minecraft and multiple launchers and I get the same error. Haven't touched the settings at all. Thank you so much for your help.
Specs:
OS: MacOS 10.14.5
Processor: i7-2720QM
Graphics: HD 3000
Memory: 16 GB 1333mhz DDR3
When I hit play, this is the error message the official launcher spits out:
---- Minecraft Crash Report ----

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
The new launcher comes with a version of Java bundled and I can't quite figure out how to point it to using the version I have installed. Any idea how to do that?
Im having this exact same error, its appears as if our graphics cards and integrated graphics are out of date, the only possibly way to make Minecraft run again would be downgrading your version of MacOS, I'm on a 4,1MacPro and its graphics are technically below the standards even though there are two of them(2 x GeForce GT 120's). Sadly for you it seems that you are working with a MacBook Pro or a hackintosh laptop meaning that the graphics are hard to upgrade especially seeing that you are using integrated graphics you might not even have space for a graphics card.

Were you able to play earlier Minecraft versions? Tried disabling OpenGL? Maybe try updating video drivers.
It's MacOS, so I can't update video drivers. I had Minecraft running fine on MacOS 13. How do I disable OpenGL?
Accidentally double posted. My bad.
That computer is well below the requirements for Minecraft, New computer time!

Install all available software updates for your mac.
On an older version of MacOS and on Linux, it ran just fine. Not buying a new laptop just to play Minecraft.
Can you try updating your Java to see if that helps? If not, try downgrading Java.

Already made sure everything was updated.
