So, didnt play minecraft for a few years, started the old launcher, everything fine, played a bit, then noticed there were new versions, and my launcher didnt support it, so i went to the minecraft site, downloaded the installer and installed it. Didnt work.
removed the old .minecraft file didnt work
tried the alternate installer, didnt work
im going to try to run a anti malware and see if this fixes it
It doesnt crash, it doesnt even launch, when i open the shortcut to the launcher it just says "Unable to start the minecraft runtime environment this is most likely caused by a corruption" in a simple textbox and thats it
[p]All I can see on there that would affect minecraft is hamachi. I'd like you to reinstall minecraft by following these steps: [/p]
You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To
do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and
press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory,
and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see
therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck![/p]
Oh i tried that already, the Launcher doesnt even try to download a new .minecraft it just gives up when i open it. The installer makes a folder named "game" with it inside and thats it.
i downloaded a slightly older launcher and it works fine for me, it can play 1.13.2, but when i try to play a older version it just crashes.
My pc might be too old for this, but i used to play minecraft with mods fine in this same Pc so i dont know why it just doesnt want to work anymore.
