Hello, whenever i try to connect to my friend's server, i get a lengthy loading screen, which gets to "Loading Terrain" and then gives me a "java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote hostjava.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" error.
The modpack being used is called GnelfCraft and is being launched through the Twitch launcher.
Initially it wouldn't give me this error (consistently, at least, still had the same problem sometimes, but i could connect), however, after going to the nether, and then coming back, i crashed, then, when i reconnected, i died immediately, and was not able to respawn (the button clicked but did nothing). After i disconnected, i started getting the aforementioned error.
Here is an extract from the error log from when i connect to when i close the game:
As you can see, i die before getting the error, which means i am connected for a very short time (i could actually see my character for a split second) before disconnecting.
After that, i tried a complete wipe: removed every trace of Minecraft from my pc, reinstalled the latest version of java, reinstalled the modpack, and had my player.dat file deleted from the server by the host, but i still get the same error, albeit slightly different (namely my death is missing because my player.dat file got deleted and then recreated as if i was a new player)
Initially we thought that it was due to poor connection, and the server would boot me because it received no data from me after 30 seconds (as detailed in this thread), so we increased the limit to 180 seconds, with no results. RAM doesn't seem to be the issue, seeing as i've given the game 10GB of memory to work with (it may be excessive, but i did it so that i could remove RAM from the possible problems).
As of now neither me, my friends or the host can figure out what's wrong, so if anyone could take a look i'd really appreciate.
How long did it take for you to get back to the Overworld?
Seems that your network is too slow. When Minecraft tries to download the Overworld, it takes too long and so the server assumes it disconnected and kicks out the client.
Does nayone else get this error that connects to the server? If not it's probably your internet.
I’m not the only one, another player has it too, but not as often as i do. And even then, as i mentioned at the end of the post, we raised the limit for downloading the world, plus my internet isn’t that bad.
I have the same issue with a server I play ATM Remix on. After a lot of discussion and testing between me and the server staff, we narrowed it down to something on my specific computer. I can connect from a different computer with no problems, and even another computer that is using my internet connection has no problems. The possibilities are a network card that is having issues with the protocols that Minecraft uses, or it's driver, or something in Windows 7 that has a problem, like a network protocol setting. Since I can connect with a Windows 10 computer from the same location, I'm thinking an upgrade to Windows 10 on my computer might fix it, at least hopefully, I just haven't had the time to do it yet as that's a major upgrade.
If you're already running Windows 10 and have a decent ping to the server, then I have no idea. There are so many things that could be causing the issue it's almost impossible to narrow down without being a network IT professional.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Completely wiping and reinstalling Minecraft, Java and the Modpack
Resetting my character in the server
DMZing my PC (temporarily excluding it from the firewall)
Rebooting both my PC and the router
Raised the timer before the server automatically kicks me after not receiving data to 180 seconds (and as i've said, my internet isn't that bad, 9.80 Mbps download, 2.92 Mbps upload, i've never had issues and it's about the same as the other people who are playing in the server)
Connecting to a vanilla Minecraft server also gives no issues, so i'm 100% clueless on what to do next

Error 1
As you can see, i die before getting the error, which means i am connected for a very short time (i could actually see my character for a split second) before disconnecting.

Bump.
Bump x2.

So far i've tried:

Try updating your internet driver, that might fix your problem.
