I was playing with a friend and i opened my LAN as survival, cheats on, and i switched my game to creative to build something, then i switched it back to survival when i was done. my friend lost all his stuff, and now every time he tries to connect to my LAN both our games crash. any way to fix this?? i can play my game fine because i made the world. we have built up a lot of wealth on survival and don't want to lose our game as we just made a nether portal.

Backup the map from the saves directory before working on it !
If you or your friend , first started playing your map in a pre-1.13.1 game or a snapshot or by accident open the map in a 1.12.2 game , the map can get corrupted . There may be a backup of your map in the saves directory as a zip file . You can can try opening the map file in MCEdit and from the main menu try repair chunks .
There are 2 directories in the .minecraft folder , that have txt files with information as to why the game crashed
