Hello all,
I'm finally going to make a topic here because I am looking for alternative before I try extremes. I can't seem to run my game a consistent frame-rate and smoothness ever since I re-imaged my PC. I get about 20-45 FPS but never more. It get's to a point where I can't play for 15 minutes before my eyes start to hurt as it never gets better. The strangest part is all versions of the game have poor frame-rate, no matter if it's 1.7.3 beta or 1.12.2 Forge. Even then, my modpack is fairly small. Anyone got some solutions?
Graphics Chipset...........................................Radeon RX 570 Series GDDR5 8GB (Uses Radeon Settings for settings managment)
I will list all that I have done so far with no results:
Please Read Before Making a Suggestion
Installed Optifine and tried every setting for performance
installed FoamFix andBetterFPS
Reinstalled Java and double checked it was a x64 bit version
Reinstalled Minecraft
Set FPS limit to 60 and 120
Turned VSync off
Had all background Application closed
Applied 1 to 4 GB of allocated RAM (-Xmx?G)
Set java Priority high and tested ll prioritiy levels
Some Other Details...
After Re-image, I played once before my eyes got sore, got a new graphics card (not for Minecraft alone; I've been planning to get a new one for a while), installed it, and had the same poor frame-rate.
The performance problems are most notable when looking around at first leading me to believe it's the mouse, but that was inconclusive due to the mouse being fine in other games
Doesn't seem to be a processor issue. Old version run poor, but so does 1.8, which came with multi-threaded chunk rendering
Minecraft alone uses about 25% of the CPU and a little over 2,000 MB of Memory as well as about 33% GPU
Running Minecraft and Google Chrome uses almost 45% total memory
I can't seem to get Minecraft itself onto Radeon Settings. It either thinks the launcher.exe is what i want it to tweak, or when I select javaw.exe it thinks the game is "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" and won't apply any settings. (Note: I do not own this game)
Here's what I get when running the javaw.exe through Radeon settings: https://imgur.com/1LfQbOa . It seems to cap the Memory for the card itself, which I do not know how to tweak.
I think something is limiting the game, but what could it be besides the possible memory issue with the card? Minecraft sees my GPU and uses it, so that's out of the question. I should have enough for this game, but I guess not? If any of you need more info, let me know. Any help is appreciated!

The Modpack image uses the JVM argument "-Xmx3G" but other amounts give no other results.
The vanilla image is just 1.13. It should be at 120 FPS as my PC should be able to handle it. Probably gets more frames because it lacks Forge. No JVM arguments present in that profile

Mipmapping was on before reimage. And so was anisotropic filtering. I guess this is a for now solution, as it takes me to 60 FPS, which is fine for my modpack, but other versions won't go to the limits I set. Vanilla should hit 120, but hits around 80, and my vanilla with shaders used to get around 45-50 FPS but now gets just under 30.
There has to be more solutions. I mean, as stated, I have a powerful PC with plenty of memory and CPU to spare. There must be a way to use this potential. On top of this, I think my mouse is getting bad. Mouse movement is indeed jagged and stutters, adding to the effect of poor framerate. I'll have to fix that.
well seeing that you limited the frame rate to 120 that may do it, it doesn't all ways go to what you set it too but usually it is a few less, don't know why but it just does (at least for me it does) I would set it to around 250-unlimited fps. also I had this happen to me, where my monitor wasn't in perfect sync with my pc, so you might have to do that, (I am pretty sure this is only needed with VGA or DV-I). and also you might get better performance if you fullscreen the game, than turn on v-sync as well. also I have been trying out 1.13, it just doesn't have a good optimization, I can hit 100-120fps on max setting with render set to 32 chunk on 1.12.2, than I go to 1.13 and only get 30-60 fps with every thing turned to low and render set to only 8 chunks, I even get a higher fps on average with shaders turned on in 1.12.2 than 1.13 on high.
my pc is way under your specs, just a 4gb of ram (use to be 8gb but the one console stopped working after close to 5 years of heavy use) a 1.8 ghz quad core cpu, overclocked at 2.8ghz, and a 865mb integrated gpu,
also if your pc is getting hot when you play stuff it will lower you cpu speed to cool itself down, this could also cause the problem. after testing my cpu out with AMD cool n' quiet enabled and removing the cooling fan to see how it would run, it lowered its speed to just 1.01-1.03 ghz with only 2 cores turned on and a voltage of just 2/5ths of the cores normal voltage, so if your pc is getting hot, it may do this, just not to the same degree. this normaly starts for me at around 70-80 degrees centigrade.
if it is your cpu temp, check your fan for dust, if its not that, than its most likely the mc version.

It's definitely not temprature issue. Nothing is overclocked, and everything stays pretty cool, especially at starting temps.
Fullscreen with Vsync does not help, and I do not like playing fullscreen. So far it's at 60 FPS, but my mouse still jitters. It's pretty bad, and I updated it's drivers, played with DPI and sensitivity, disabled pointer precision, even updated the USB drivers. Got no results.
So my problems are: minecraft not using my computer's full potential and mouse input problems.
You may have updated java, but Minecraft isn't using it. Make sure you force the launcher to use the latest version (currently using U51 according to your screen shot)
That is a good point. How do I switch Java versions, my keen eyed friend?
Power plan has always been on balanced. Only other option is power saving. I am on a large desktop, not laptop.
load launcher, click Launch options, enable advanced settings click profile you want to change, then change the java executable to point to the java you want to use

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.

Is your pc on the power saving option in the power power plan settings?

8u51 is the newest version I have, and it's the version I got after reinstalling Java. It's also the only version. Am I missing something?
Anyone else have any ideas?
