Getting a crash as soon as the world loads in. Basic sequence of events are as follows:
Launcher opens as normal
Game client launches as normal
Select world
Loading screen runs as normal
Spawn into world
Brief moment of sky blue and player hand holding item (ie no chunks load)
Game crashes
This occurred in 18w11a, so I'm not sure how fixable this issue will be. The crash occurred in a part of the world that had not been explored up until this point. Currently running the John Smith Legacy texture pack for the snapshot.
It's not recommended to load any words you care about in the snapshots. It will generally work
but these snapshot releases are for testing and full of bugs. Go back
to a stable version such as 1.12.2 where you could open the world in and
wait for the 1.13 release before loading your worlds it.
Also, always make backups before loading your worlds into snapshots.

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
Fair enough. I did back the world up before going into the snapshot, so any loss would not be catastrophic. That being said, my other question is this:
Is there any chance that the bugged version would be playable if opened in the 1.13 release?
I get that the odds are not good for that, but it would be nice to know if there was any reasonable chance at all.

I have found that if you goto C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\%YOURWORLD%\playerdata
dump all the files to a zip or rar file... delete them...
Load your world (you will be new at spawn point.... Derp around for a few seconds... save exit... leave minecraft at the menu (doesn't seem to matter)
then overwrite your files in playerdata with your backed up files from your ZIP or RAR.
Load your world again...
Suddenly it doesn't crash magically, and it will work again for random amount of time (sometimes hours, sometimes minutes), till it just crashes again, and you have to repeat.

Hit escape, change your game difficulty to peaceful before it crashes. You are likely near a large body of water that is spawning Drowned. If you aren't near an ocean or a river, it's likely a large body of water above/beneath you. You can turn your game difficulty back to normal or hard once your game is stabilized. The bug that is causing this will likely be fixed with the next snapshot.
