1. Minecraft runs on OpenGL, not DirectX.

i have this issue with a brand now extremely kitted box , it is a combined failure in the directx and graphics driver.
when this happens you can test if it persists by restarting your computer and check if minecraft starts up again , if it does then my statement above is for your situation.
