So way back when Minecraft was still a bit clunky, I started creating a 1:1 scale model of Hampton Court Palace in Minecraft. As life got in the way and several computer upgrades happened, I stopped working on it. However I recently decided to boot up the old Macbook Pro and pull my Hampton Court save so that I could move it to my current computer.
You can see where this is going.
I've searched the main Minecraft files on the Mac (~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft) but my saves aren't there. I've also checked my Dropbox (no dice), and my current computers just in case I did copy it, but I'm out of luck.
It's not JUST the Hampton save that disappeared, it's all my saves. The entire "saves" folder has disappeared. It's just the Hampton one I care about recovering.
I may have also contributed to the problem by opening Minecraft on the Macbook, and hence triggering updates. I don't know if this would have erased the saves, but it's the only update I made to Minecraft/the Macbook.
Is there ANY chance my saved file could be located anywhere else on the Macbook? Is there any way to search for/recover it?
Thanks for any and all suggestions! I'd really hate to start over.

IT WORKED!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
OOoh, looks interesting!
I finished far more of Hampton than I realized, but I can't get the dang screenshots to post.
If I ever finish the dang thing, I'll happily open it up to visitors!
