I want to play Pixelmon so very badly. I have tried several times over the last year or so to get it to work for me. I thought I had come to terms with the idea that I will not get to play this until I can afford a new computer, mine is 2+ years old, cheap at the time (cause I had no money and much need), and crashes anytime I even think about doing something it doesn't want me to do. That being said, I have lately been able to get and use Forge (with a few curse mods), Optifine, and been playing the latest snapshot with no issue. Now I just really want to play Pixelmon, really really I do. I can't get it to work through the Forge/Curse client thing so I tried following a (few different) tutorials to maybe get it to work enough to get on a server (I'm on one using vanilla, but have never been on any using a mod), or would even be satisfied to just be able to use it on my own, by my sad, pokemonless self. But the crashing...
The game crashed whilst there was a severe problem during mod loading that has caused the game to fail
Error: net.minecraftforge.fml.common.LoaderExceptionModCrash: Caught exception from Pixelmon (pixelmon)
All the tutorials seem to think this is due to a lack of RAM, all suggesting you need at least 2G, I have an 8G computer though and was helped, back when I could barely play Vanilla with a few crashes, to allocate 4G so... not really sure that is the problem, plus that error seems to not be this crash report.
-Xmx4096M -Xms4096M
Not that I really know what I'm doing, other than just bumbling along. Any help would be appreciated, even if that is just to say I don't have a chance. XD If I know it officially at least I'll know to stop trying.

So no new Pixelmon, the latest as of right now is 1.10.2 compatible, if I'm reading that correctly. Going to a previous forge on my Minecraft-um-thing... does not make forge work to bring up any ability to use any mods, for some reason. I don't know, but I have to leave soon for work so for now that is all I can do. At least it isn't crashing now, though no Pokemon still. Thanks for the help.
To do this I would have to reinstall Minecraft? I made a new profile in my current MC with the 1.10.2 profile, but it won't let me also add Forge to that profile.
The regular minecraft launcher if I can. I did try the Pixelmon launcher, but it did not work better for me and I can't do anything to adjust it like I can the regular launcher.

Your using a 1.10.2 mod with MC/Forge 1.11.
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
So to ask, what fix do I specifically need to do? I am barely computer literate.
ok wait, I have a habit of asking before I try, I think I see what you mean, gonna try it now.
PS. looking good so far, thank you both so much!
You either see if pixelmon was updated for 1.11.2 or use 1.10.2 forge to run it

Try this:
1. Make a MC 1.10.2 Profile
2. Install Forge 1.10.2 version
3. Go into Profile settings and set Version to use Forge 1.10.2
4. Make a world with just Forge first (no mods)
5. Copy the mod(s) into the mods folder created by Forge
6. Play using the Forge Profile from #4
Hope this helps.

To do this I would have to reinstall Minecraft? I made a new profile in my current MC with the 1.10.2 profile, but it won't let me also add Forge to that profile.
Did you use the Installer-win file of Forge? It will easily install Forge.
BTW: what launcher are you using?

The regular minecraft launcher if I can. I did try the Pixelmon launcher, but it did not work better for me and I can't do anything to adjust it like I can the regular launcher.
