When I go onto the newest snapshot, 17w14a (as of 4/6/17), my minecraft lags extremely, to the extent where it is pretty much unplayable! The client has never crashed on the new snapshot, it just seems like it has a maximum of 2 or 3 fps! This lag only happens on versions past version 1.11.2, so it only happens on snapshot 17w06a, snapshot 17w13b, and snapshot 17w14a!
For comparison, when I play minecraft 1.11.2 and lower, I get anywhere between 30 - 100 fps! While when I am in snapshot 17w14a, I have never seen the fps go above 5! This is not just on a singleplayer world! Even on the main title screen, there is lag! I have even tried to allocate all of my ram to minecraft and x out of other windows, to no effect!
Since it probably matters here are my specs:
RAM: 4.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64 based processer
Thank you for your help! Unfortunately, I do not believe I have any other graphics card besides the integrated one! I am not 100% sure though! I tried to look up how to find what graphics cards I have but to no success! I am sorry if I am stupid here, I am a very big noob when it comes to pc specs! Sorry!
When I clicked this link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26229 I downloaded the first download in the "available downloads" tab to the right and when it finished downloading, I installed it, it said "The Driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."
Then I tried the 2nd download link right under the first and it downloaded a zip file. I extracted the zip file and hit install and got the same message! As far as I can tell, the 2nd download is the exact same as the 1st except in zip format!
I'm sorry if I did something wrong and am extremely dumb!
You actually allocated ALL of your RAM to Minecraft? Absolutely NO! That just screams lag, because there is no memory left for the OS itself, which requires 1-2 GB just to run your computer, so it will be forced to page memory out to disk - and the JVM also requires more RAM than allocated for the game itself - you should never allocate more than half your RAM to the game, and less if you have less memory (i.e. Java overhead and OS memory do not scale up linearly. The OS will however use any "free" memory for caching files, significantly speeding up disk access for files that are frequently read/written, like Minecraft save files):
2. Why not give it more memory? Let's give Minecraft 4 GB of RAM to play with. This would need a PC with at least 8 GB RAM (as the real memory usage is almost double the memory visible in Java).
The entire "allocate more RAM for FPS" is the most pervasive myth out there - it is just utterly wrong unless the game actually needs it - and with most settings it does not - even 512 MB is more than enough on low-mid settings (render distance, the main determinant of memory usage) and default texture pack:
Thank you! I went back into the JVM arguments on snapshot 17w14a and changed the allocated memory to 2GB out of my 4GB The game is still at 1-5 fps though, but I'm sure that was one of the things making it lag!
I have found a fix! I had to go back and use the old minecraft launcher! When I launch the newest snapshot (now 17w15a, as of 4/12/17) using the old launcher, I am running at a solid 30-60 fps (which is standard for me, without optifine) thx for your help everyone!

Well I only have one .minecraft folder on my computer so no, I don't think so!
Post a screenshot with F3 enabled.
My framerate was perfectly fine, but I got huge lag spikes when I loaded alot of new chunks.
Here is a screenshot in minecraft 17w14a with f3 enabled!
Minecraft is using the integrated card. Set it to use the Nvidia card

I followed the instructions in the link and here is the link to my paste: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24333636/
The drivers your using are from 2015. Go to Intel's website and check for updates. Don't use Windows Update.

I checked if I have the latest driver update via downloading the driver update utility and it says I have the latest driver available to my product!

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
