So, I've been playing around with 1.11 mods, and in my initial world, I found some oddities. Before/while I start getting into binary-search on my mods, I figured I'd throw these out here and see if anyone else as seen similar.
My Mods list: (I'm also using the Better Than Default resource pack)
I seem to have acquired the equivalent of Hardcore Darkness, with full darkness being truly black. None of my mods seems to have an obvious connection to that. I formerly had StellarSky, but removed it because its HUD element was overlaying Journeymaps' mini-map. Well, that was fast. It's a change in Vanilla. 1.11.2 also.
I'm not seeing any bats at all, and I'm looking for them because of the PetBats mod.
Anyone know offhand which mods might be causing these?
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
However, I'm starting to suspect that I might be on a hiding to nothing here too... exploring the vanilla 1.11 world in creative, I did see natural bats, but they were noticably rarer than I'd expected.

Can you manually spawn in bats by going to creative?
Yes.
