Hey everyone, please disregard me being a new member.
The lag experienced after updating to client version 1.9 is due to V-Sync. Load the game, go into settings, and disable V-Sync.
If you have an Nvidia based card, having Nvidia Vertical Sync turned ON in the Nvidia Control Panel will also cause this FPS drop/lag.
Making sure that both forms of V-Sync are turned off has completely fixed the problem for me.
The lag/FPS drop occurs both in the game menus and during game play. If you are having trouble navigating the menu, or it seems that when you click any of the options that the menu is unresponsive, give it a few seconds, or in my case a couple minutes, and it will eventually register your cursor's click. Once v-sync is off, boom, problem solved.
If someone with an AMD based card could reply and confirm an issue or no issue at all, that would be great.
Disabling VSync has done wonders, but I still get some serious issues when moving fast and loading a lot of new blocks. Expected but much worse than in 1.8. And the full effect of disabling VSynch does take a few minutes to happen, Every time I start the game. Hope there is a patch soon.
Hello, I'm having this same problem except Vsync is turned off and I don't have an Nvidia card.
I was able to play 1.8 with 60-100fps no problem, but with 1.9 everything has dropped between 1-5fps and even the menu's are lagging. I have no idea how to fix this :/
i have been having a problem with my minecraft like this for months minecraft used to run perfectly but lately it hasn't been working so well i have the same lag issues in both the game and the menu it seems to have gotten a bit better but it still seems to be an issue i tried disable vsync and what not (even though i never needed to before)m but it never seemed to help much
