This is a recurring problem. Can we get the launcher file made available somewhere to just download? If I copy the MinecraftLauncher.exe from another computer, it works fine but that other computer is not always available so the whole day without my Minecraft. Oh the Humanity!
The updater gets to something just over 59Mb and then retries the third time giving up and saying "failed". I've even tried it from a completely fresh install, removing the app and the Mincraft Launcher folder and it still goes wrong.
Come on folks - let's get some action here - we're missing out.
I am not disabling my antivirus to allow a download. That is ludicrous. If the MinecraftLauncher.exe were made available to download instead of having to go through the launcher's own update routine, that would be a suitable workaround.
This happens whenever it finishes updating.
