Your java installation is missing the ca-certs or they are corrupted.
On different linuxes I've seen that two different Java's can interfere with each other (leading to the corruption issue).
And sometimes the certificates are a separate package to install. (leading to the missing issue).
I have uninstalled java completely and reinstalled it, is there any further advice I may obtain? The error message still pops up. and I currently have cacerts and other certificates in the lib/security folder
http://pastebin.com/riXauJgW This is the error after I reinstalled java. I think it's the same error. I also got the ca-certificates-java package. no luck.
I get this error when I try to launch the Minecraft.jar On linux. http://pastebin.com/4eeHbzgb
