Nvidia doesn't recognize minecraft as a game. Just an everyday program, so it runs off your integrated graphics card instead.

1) From NVIDIA Control Panel -> 'Manage 3D Settings' -> 'Program Settings', 'Add'
2) Locate your javaw.exe (eg : 'C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin' (jre7 for Java 7, 'Program Files (x86)' for 32-bit Java on x64 )), select 'open'. 3) Find the option 'Select the preferred graphics processor for this program', change this to 'High Performance NVIDIA processor'
4) Apply.
It will literally shoot up from 2 to 200 FPS.
What if the "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program" option doesn't show?
According to the NVIDIA Control Panel Help: Preferred graphics processor (Only on systems using NVIDIA's power-saving GPU technology.) .
I'm on a desktop computer, I think it's a Intel Pentium Dual Core and I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS Graphics Card. Any way to work around this? I'm still stuck at 17 FPS.

Hmm I think when I a big new way to fix lag in beta 1.8 or 1.9 I'll change the guide number to 2.0 since it's so different than the initial release, but I'll have to change a lot of things. Any feedback on what I can/should change?
would you please just tell me how to run it in the original format
I'm telling you I don't know. I have never seen this error, the bat file is not supposed to do that, and as far as I know never has don that. I really wish I could tell you, but I've prowled all over the internet and haven't found a fix yet. Here I found two other bat files to try. A bat got us in this problem it'll get us out.
Second; What the user was saying was that there is no "Select the Preffered Graphics prosseser for this program" option. I have the same problem. We pressed Add, located javaw.exe, and when we scroll through the list, there is no option for it. Any ideas?
I still get blackscreen AFTER metainf folder deleted. help anyone? :dry.gif:
2 or more of your mods are conflicting. See the class files that are named like "id", "co", "y" and so on? If 2 mods use the same file they are usually incompatible, unless the forum specifically says they are compatible. But optifine is compatible with MANY mods. So install that last.
I have noticed an increase in FPS when I put Minecraft into fullscreen. (F11 for windows)
Umm I think I saw this somewhere. Why the hell not it's quick to type up and easy to try I'll add this lol.
*edit* I'll add it in later. I really want to change to 2.0, 1.10 looks weird like its 1.1, but I need to find something innovative... A great tip or a great way to make this guide easier to read. I wanna do what Shockah does on his modlist with the little stars that you can link to but I don't know how...
*edit 2* Hey you know whats a fun trick? Being smart enough to hit reply to see the coding of the topic :dry.gif: any way let the testing of this niffty trick commence!
Woo 2.0! I couldn't wait any longer to update to 2.0, lol. Now back to minecraft 1.8 to burn my eyes out >:3. Still check daily for messages and new replies so ask away!

Please note, as of Beta 1.8 (not fixed in 1.8.1), there is a memory leak on Linux 32 bit. OpenJDK runs Minecraft fine for me, the out of memory issues only occur since 1.8.

Quick suggestion, you should make a "How to have less multiplayer lag/latency/delay" guide. :smile.gif:
Oh yeah I have a custom launcher on linux too, completely forgot about it and I use it all the time lol. I'll add it in later
*edit* snipped the quote a bit cause it's a huge block of text.
And a memory leak on 32 bit D: oh noes I only have 1gb of ram and I hate shutting off my computer!
And I would, but I don't know of any way to reduce mp lag than just getting faster internet lol.
How do you think I get alot of the software I use such as Photoshop? I ain't wasting like $500+ on a fancier version of MS Paint, and I ain't using friggin' GIMP or Paint.net like I'm some art school dropout. Thank god for good ol' The Pirate Bay. Yarr!
XD if it wasn't for my fear of getting a virus I'd download everything on there(that would take quite a few hard drives that cost hundreds of dollars but thats beyond the point). But photoshop is confusing T.T I prefer gimp :tongue.gif:
Guys, I REALLY recommened Ubuntu. I could barely run a 32x texture pack before, now I can run a 128 pack without any lag. Plus, it looks pretty sweet XD
Although it did take me 3+ hours to get Himachi working
Thanks!

So you added the program and its still at 17 fps?

put this where the minecraft.exe is
Same steps as the bat file on the first post.
First; Thanks, for the guide!

Been part of the MC community since 1.7.3 Beta
