Make sure you've added Java 7 onto the list, it does help with performance.
I did, it's on my possibly section. As it's a beta some people may have problems with it which is why it's not a "do". I still highly recommend it though.
I wouldn't count too much on this Guide. There's already one stickied and less wall of text to read..
Less text means less help. Unfortunately all this text is important, I hate to read, too. But like a mod, you should read the entire post to make sure you don't mess up. And the individual parts are semi-short, depending on what you're looking at.
Thanks to the OP for this guide. I found it very useful, particularly the part on setting your appdata to be picked up on a secondary drive using a BAT file. Cheers. :smile.gif:
All I did was put it in the first post. Thank lost-ninja for telling me about it :biggrin.gif: . This is going to be a collaborative guide from me and anyone who wants to help. I shall give credit where credit is due.
Before discovering this guide: 15 FPS, Short, fast.
After: 30 FPS, Normal, fast.
What I did: Installed Optifog/Mine, quit using a 32x texture pack, and now using the Ubuntu Linux OS.

Awesome :biggrin.gif: . If you need any future assistance be sure to ask.
Waffle I tryed the .bat thing and when I log in to multiplayer it says Bad login but any ways, it didnt work any reason why?
I'm not quite sure. I only play single player and works just fine, but never tried it with multiplayer. Try it again and make sure you put in your username and password right. If it still doesn't work It's possible that the .bat trick doesn't allow for multiplayer use

Better Said then Done! Why is Monday so far from friday but friday is so close to Monday!!!!!
Words cannot express my gratitude for this guide. I also use a netbook and my fps was downright pathetic, to the point I just couldn't play. By using one of your suggested texture packs [jolicraft] and using the .bat method I can now play just fine on my netbook.
I am experiencing something odd though. Everything seems fine at first, but then it randomly tells me that I'm not logged in/using an unverified copy of minecraft [basically, the message displayed if you play it with no internet connection]. My username and password on the .bat file are correct.

What do you think I should do? :mellow.gif: I guess I could organize it from easiest to hardest but I don't what else beyond that.

Found the solution. Spoiler tags! :biggrin.gif:

50% will try almost all of these tips.
33% will try half or less.
17% don't need them.
I'll post some up
