Basic question I didn't see answered anywhere yet - With the 1.6.2 release, can we now install Java 7 for the Mac and have MC work ok?
I know there were issues with running Java 7 previously. Have those now been resolved with the latest release? Or do we still have to keep running Java 6 to run MC on the Mac?
I'm on 10.7.5, Lion. Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
This is the crash error I get with the new console.

I recently updated on my MacBook Air and once I hit PLAY the screen goes black. Once in awhile I can see ~100px on the bottom of the game, but the rest of the screen is black. It responds to clicks as I can click where I know the QUIT button to be. Any tips on how to fix this?

Here is a list of currently known bugs and problems:
1. Mac OSX 10.5:
Minecraft 1.6 currently does not work because of issues in LWJGL (library that Minecraft uses) that is out of Mojang's hands. This will be fixed when the makers of LWJGL fixes this bug and releases a new version.
Since Minecraft 1.6, Minecraft no longer supports Java 5 and PowerPC Macs.
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running OSX 10.5.8 and it does run Minecraft 1.6.2 as long as I don't run it full screen. If I set it to full screen I just get a black screen and can't do anything. I have to hard-reset my iMac to get out of it. If I launch 1.5 and go in to video settings to turn off full screen and then launch 1.6 it runs fine. However even maximising the window will cause a lock up so I can only run it in the small window it launches in.

A fix has been pushed out for a while that automatically switches the LWJGL version on 10.5 systems so Minecraft remains playable. In reality you shouldn't use 10.5 - it's ancient.

Unfortunately I have to keep it on 10.5.8 to run some legacy software. Actually I could probably upgrade to Snow Leopard (10.6) but higher than that they dropped Rosetta.
Minecraft is playable in the small window but still can't be played full screen with the latest version.

Fullscreen does not work because LWJGL 2.8 (and very outdated graphics driver)

Ok, thanks. Guess I'll have to learn to live with it. In any case I wasn't so much looking for a solution as pointing out that 1.6 does work in OSX 10.5.8 as long as you don't run it full screen.
i have been getting error code one but when i try to upgrade my drivers to fix it intel says it is up to date
i have also tried deleting and re downloading the whole game
the 1.6 launcher wont work for me at all no matter what i tried... i deleted the entire folder 2 times and redownloaded even updated java... and nothing worked... if anyone can help would be amazing
I just came back to MC after several months. Knowing that the game was updated with new launcher and all, I just decided to delete everything, launcher and .minecraft appdata files, update java, and download the new launcher. However, upon running the new launcher, it skips the interface and immediately asks me to log in, and then proceeds to tell me that "sorry, we are unable to connect to our servers right now". Did I miss something vital, or is it just the infinitely buggy client?
Hey! I think I found either a bug or a part of the game I can't turn off (or at least I don't know how) in MC 1.6.2. When I logged in after getting the OptiFine mod, I noticed a possible bug. I couldn't scroll up and down in the singleplayer/multiplayer world selection screen. When I joined my favorite SMP server, I found I had to click and drag to move items in my inventory. I tried joining one of my singleplayer worlds, but the same thing happened. I tried deleting OptiFine, re-logging and re-booting my computer, but nothing worked. I don't know how to force update, but I don't think that will help either.I hope someone else has had this bug, and they know how to fix it, as this is REALLY annoying me. If you know how to fix this, please respond to this comment. Have a great day, and happy building!
