Ok, first off, I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have been having some extremely annoying problems with Minecraft. Ok. It all started about a week ago, I was playing on my server, when Minecraft just froze. It stayed like that for a few seconds before it took me to a page (still in Minecraft) that said "Minecraft has run out of memory" along with some other more technical things having to do with Java. Has this happened to anyone else? And is this a problem with my computer or with Minecraft? This has not only been a problem with Minecraft but also Tekkit. Please help soon. This is driving me insane. It is recurring. I can play for about five minutes before it happens again.
Happened to me once. I'm thinking my computer might have been doing something in the background that caused it. I restarted my computer and I haven't seen it since.
If you are getting this error a lot you might be using too many mods or something (high resolution textures?). If you aren't using mods then it might be time to upgrade your computer or lower your view distance.

You probably need to allocate more RA. I had this problem for quite a while too-until I allocated much more RAM. Go to control panel, java panel, and tell it to give java more memory. this should help it out.
Everyone, I need a way to fix this without having to change computer settings. If that is impossible, then give me step by step please. And real quick, is this Minecraft or my computer?

There is a way to do it using magic launcher, however I'm not sure how exactly. I have had this problem a few times myself. I plan on upgrading my pc soon, so maybe that will help. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube on how to fix this.

This is a problem with your computer. When it says out of memory, it means out of memory to use. How much RAM do you have? And are you using the browser version or are you using Minecraft through the launcher?
I also have this problem, I'm not a computer techie at all so I have no clue what the solution would be. It happens every so often, especially on online servers. I think I've seen 32bit / 64 bit having something to do with the issue at hand. I have 32-bit java, and my computer is top-notch.
I hate this stuffs to but i found this solution on the web
Open notepad or a program like it and paste this code into it:
javaw -Xmx512m -Xms512m -jar minecraft.exe
then go to save as and save the file as Minecraft.bat. Change the file type to "all files", save it, and place this file in the same folder as the minecraft launcher. From now on, you should run minecraft using this file you created.
Now you can play in Peace
