I launch Minecraft, everything is okay, then I hit the F11 button to turn on fullscreen mode, but then the game just goes black and I have to click ESC to close the game. After I close the game I get a message that says:
"Java platform SE binary has stopped working".
I went through several sites and tutorials on how to fix this, and the only answer I got is that I need the Java that fits my computer, a 64 bit Java. I've installed it but the issue is still there. Also, This started today, for no reason. Before that I played Minecraft normally on full screen.
This was happening to me for awhile one day. I never did anything to fix it, but it stopped doing it.
It was crashing like you said when using f11 after I loaded into my world. (did it 3 or 4 times in a row)
So the next time, I tried going fullscreen while I was still on the menu screen (single player, multiplayer, etc) and that worked. Also, it worked while in a world from then on.

I have Windows 64 bit, that's why I downloaded the 64 bit Java.

It crashes no matter what menu I'm on.
