ok, for whatever reason it won't let me post the second image. it says I can not use a dot png file extension. But it is the same exact file extension that I used in the first one!!!
I used a .bmp when I loaded it into imageShack, and it changed it to a dot png

Hmm, it looks like the driver version you have might be for a different card version. Looking up 6.14.10.4977, the driver you have, is shows as being for intel eagle lake, while you seem to have the bear lake chipset. (perhaps Lenovo is supplying the wrong driver or the program is reading the chip wrong)
I think running driver fusion, to remove any and all graphics drivers already installed and try the ones from the intel site again.
Don't worry we don't need any of the premium features of driver fusion, so the free version of it will do just fine. As you are going thru the install, don't let it trick you into installing the web browser bar, it's not malicious but takes up screen space, until you disable it.
After that, it might be a good idea to delete the minecraft bin folder.
press the: windows key + r
in the search box: %appdata%
go into the .minecraft folder
delete the bin folder
launch minecraft, it'll will redownload the files we just deleted. But will keep any save files that your son had.
Yes. It likely to drop you to the windows default vga driver until you install the new driver. 16 color and small resolution, until you install the new driver.
ok. I have tried to delete all the intel drivers. (it does show some nvdia and adm drivers) But... for whatever reason eventhough I have asked it to delete these drivers, it won't. Will this cause an issue, or am I ok to install the other drivers?
ok, I ran the intel drivers... deleted the bin file, rebooted my machine and executed minecraft. Here is what I get:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Wow, I'm really at a loss here. Everything we have done should have installed the correct drivers and got it working.
Is there multiple windows user accounts on the computer? Are you on an Administrator Account while installing the drivers? While trying to run Minecraft?
Beyond that I have to apologize, I don't know what else to have you try.
3 user accounts. Myself as admin, and 2 kids. (hoping to help stop stupid downloading of crap)
When I go into device manager and look at the driver information it shows driver version 6.14.10.5218 - which is the same that I installed and then uninstalled previously... and then re-installed after I used driver fusion.
I appreciate all your help... but am still wondering if it has anything to do with the latest snapshot. Can I remove that? Or what are my options at this point?
Anyone else on your team have any ideas? After purchasing this game, and the fact that my son LOVES the game, I really want to be able to play it.
Deleting the bin folder removed the latest snapshot.
Have you been trying to launch minecraft from your account, or from the kids accounts?
Try right clicking on the minecraft.exe and running as admin
1 more possible random thing to try is using a different launcher.. Try using MultiMC. There are a couple video in the thread on how it works. http://www.minecraft...dows-linux-mac/
HidingInTheLight - I bow down to your expertise!!! He can now play Minecraft. All I did was watch the 1st video, and he was thrilled when he saw the options with MultiMC. So I downloaded, installed his old worlds, and all is good. thank you so very much for all your help!!!
Awesome! Your 64-bit drivers link did the trick!
