So I'm having an issue where whenever I play, the game eventually slows down and crashes. A message appears along the lines of "Minecraft has run out of memory". I've tried many "fixes" where I've tried to allocate more memory but to no avail, the issue persists. I have Win7 64bit with Java 7 Update 7 (32 and 64bit) and 8GB of Memory. By default the game runs in 32bit java but I've heard that running it in 64bit would solve my issue, but I don't know how. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am hosting a server just fine, I just can't play for more than 2 minutes.
it depends if you use the version 32 bits of the browser then obviously it will use the 32 bits but if you use the 64 then it will use the 64 bits java , you don't need to run minecraft while deleting the java i have java 7 64 bits and nothing else from the oracle corporation. and i don't get this kind of problems

I ran the game after I uninstalled 32, and it seemed to had just kill the shortcut. I use Google Chrome which is only available in 32 I need to keep it. I created a new shortcut for MC and it appears to now run in 64bit so thanks! I re installed 32bit thereafter and it's still running in 64 so that's cool.
The game doesn't even run when I do that. Also, don't web browsers need the 32bit variant?
