I was just curious to see if installing a new graphics card into my laptop would increase my Minecrafts performance. My computer runs Minecraft decently, but when it comes to a lot of redstone usage or things that require more computer usage, it lags. Any help would be wonderful!
Upgrading a laptop is easier said than done, you know. I'm sure it would help with lag, but you still have to rip apart your laptop. (Your current graphics might even be integrated, making it impossible to upgrade)
I know that's it's easier said than done, I'm just doing a little research of how to improve my gaming experience whether it be new RAM memory, graphic card, etc. From what I've been reading, installing a new graphics card onto my laptop should be a little easier than normal since I'll be able to access everything from the bottom of the machine. You have a good point when you say that it could be integrated, and before I would do anything, I would find out that type of information.
This seems to indicate graphic processing isn't the issue, but that either the RAM is the bottleneck, or the processor itself.
It could very well be that also. This computer is a everyday computer with a dual i3 core, with 4G ram, and I figured that the computer just isn't strong enough to handle heavy Minecraft loads. I just didn't know if a graphics card would help at all, or perhaps some more ram, etc.
Upgrading a laptop can be a horrendous task, so I'd recommend getting a new computer. If you head over to the CST section, the people there will come up with a nice build (or prebuilt) that fits your budget.
My current computer is fairly new, so when I get a new one down the road, I plan for it to be a beast. For now though I'll try and see if I can easily tweak or improve my current computer without damaging anything.
No, upgrading your system will have a disappointingly small effect on your MC experience. The problems are client side, not your computer or internet connection.
