Hello everyone, I need some help with this error i keep on getting when trying to play minecraft.
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

i have tried updating my drivers and has been suggested, but my computer says it is up to date. And before anyone asks, yes i do have ATI. By any chance is there any other programs or applications that are required by minecraft?
I had this error once. I was able to fix it by changing my hardware acceleration. I don't know how to find hardware acceleration on Vista (you are running Vista, correct?), but it should be somewhere under system properties.

Yes i am running vista and i did try to accelerate the hardware but appaerently it says that i am unable to do it with this video driver.
Yea its a dell with a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU with 2 Gs of Ram and a 32-bit Operating System. the display adapter that is uses is a 256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO. Dont know if there is anything else specific that you might need to know
Force an update, go to your Video Card manufacturers site, and don't use any utility that checks if it's up to date, just fill out the information for your card and grab the latest driver.
The reason why whether it says it is up-to-date or not isn't important, is because Windows Update removes OpenGL from any drivers it distributes, and if you have ever updated the drivers via Windows Update, or Windows Update has done so automatically without you knowing it, then the site's utility will detect that your driver is from Windows Update and will tell you it is up to date, you will need to force an update.
Ah i see. I will have to try that when i get the time. Thank you very much to all of you that have been willing to help me. if it doesnt work by any chance, then ill just have to experiment with my computer a bit. once again, thank you!
