Me and my brother would like to play minecraft together on LAN. We both have 1.3 and I was wondering if we needed separate accounts. If we did need separate accounts why would Mojang do that? People playing LAN are most likely using one account
I was wondering the same thing, I would like to play with my sister in the same room without having to buy minecraft twice.
If two computers with the same account can play on single player worlds at the same time, why shouldn't LAN work?
I also would like that option too. That was the reason i did not buy Diablo 3 and starcraft 2 because i hate buying another game just to LAN a few times.
The reason you can't play two games without buying two copies is because, just like any other game, you have to own it first. Otherwise it's piracy. If I wanted to have a car and go for a drive and my brother wanted to go for a drive with me but he didn't own a car, should we just go steal one so he could?..

Well actually, he wouldn't be stealing one, he would simply be making a carbon copy of your car.

How can two clients control one Steve at the same time?
