1.) The Downloaded Minecraft.exe client has stopped loading at the Updating screen. The green bar is an inch away from completing. How do I fix this?
When opening the client, before hitting login click on Options > Force Update. X out of the current box and proceed to login.
2.)I keep getting an error saying "Fatal Error occured: Address family not supported by protocol family: connect" Does anyone know what the problem is? Reinstall your Java (to the latest Java) and then download the Minecraft Game Client from the website, instead of playing in the browser, when the window pops up, (Windows Op. System) go to properties, and go to > Run As.. and hit Administrator.
3.) I click with my mouse keys but Minecraft ends up opening up the Main Menu?!
This is simply the mouse losing focus. Unplug the mouse and plug it in again. If that does not work, try going to mouse options and turning down the sensitivity.
4.) Fatal errors occurring. (7) Commonly. Most likely there's an update to Minecraft. Rarely but possible the Java is corrupt.
5.) My Minecraft worked well and now I'm freezing & slowing down.
Anything going on so called 'behind the scenes' such as things like a browser open that you're no longer using should be closed out of because of the probability of this causing your Minecraft to slow.
6.) Fatal Error (4) Failed to download lwjgl.jar 1. Download it from here 2. In your bin folder, create a folder named "natives" without quotation marks. If it is already there, delete all the files inside. 3. Place the downloaded files in the natives folder. 4. Run Minecraft. Answer credit to: Varzkkar
7.) Can't connect to Minecraft.net
Try downloading the .jar not .exe version of the downloadable client. It tends to be less buggy, and check if you have any programs blocking MC from accessing the internet.

Question 1 - Whenever I load my game in the downloaded client, I'm only able to play for about 3-5 minutes before I get a strange green visual glitch in the upper left corner of the screen. As soon as it appears, placed blocks don't appear, destroyed blocks don't disappear and become transparent (i.e. If I walk into them I can see the world as if it were an unloaded chunk) and eventually the game crashes. I'm sick of having to reboot the game every three or so minutes, so what can I do to fix this?
Question 2 - Because of the above issue, I've been playing the game in the website's browser because it doesn't crash the same way. The visual error still appears sometimes, but I'm able to play for much longer periods of time without crashing. Lately though, I have been unable to play in the browser because the game simply won't load. It gets as far as the "Updating Minecraft" page, and the green loading bar stops half an inch from completion and says "Done Loading" but never moves past that screen. It looks like this:
Why is it doing this, and what can I do to fix it?

Well what you need to do is, download the Game Client to your desktop. When running the Game Client, before you click login hit options > force update. When the force update button goes away, and turns white/gray it means it's going to make the game force update, when the game force updates it shouldn't get stuck that loading point anymore. Tell me if it works, and if it doesn't I'll have to try something else. As for the visual glitch, I'm not quite sure it could be your graphics card but like I said I'm not sure, I haven't heard of this problem lately so.

Forcing the update worked to fix the in-browser game. Thank you very much, and I'll keep looking for a way to fix the green box of death issue.
No problem, I will look into it, and try and contact you if I find a way to fix it, and if you fix it please do contact me and tell me how! Have a good day, or night bud! ^.^
Hi guys, yesterday my minecraft was working perfectly but today when i logged on I could not get onto and minecraft servers but i could get onto multiplayer ones. I kept getting an error saying "Fatal Error occured: Address family not supported by protocol family: connect" Does anyone know what the problem is? And if so is there a solution?
In the .exe standalone client, after I log in, it'll go to the mojang splash screen, and suspend it indefinitely if I don't do anything. But if I click where the "singleplayer," or "multiplayer," etc. buttons would be on the title screen, it'll load them properly. If I try to go back to the main menu from the singleplayer/multiplayer/etc screens, it'll hang the image and behave like the mojang splash screen does. If I try to load or create a map to play, the image will get stuck, alternating between map-loading processes, though I can hear minecraft ambiance in the background and the achievement tips can drop down. I suspect it might be a graphical or corrupted file issue, but I've redownloaded the client, cleared the .minecraft folder, and redownloaded java several times. Running in administrator doesn't work, either.
In the minecraft player on the website, the java applet will load, sometimes show me a little bit of updating going on, but then display an indefinite white rectangle, almost as if java wasn't installed.
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1250
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
CPU Driver: AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60
And obviously I have the latest version of java.
Anything else that might be interfering with the game like this?

Hmm, I've never quite heard of this problem to be quite honest with you. How old have you had your computer? Referring to how old the video card/graphics cards are. I mean if you've re-downloaded every applet needed to play and cleared the .minecraft folder and it still doesn't work, all I can say is. Most likely, it's your video/graphics card, or on the downloadable game client you could try force update, which usually fixes my Minecraft bugs. Hope this information helps as much as intended, thank you.

I've tried force updating, and reinstalling the client a few times. The video card is old but not exactly "outdated"; it's a lot better than what's normally necessary to run minecraft. Not to mention this laptop has been able to run minecraft before. Actually, do you know where I could download old clients for game, to test if those still work?

When I try to connect to any minecraft server I keep getting dc'd with an error I don't remember.
The game works smoothly for roughly 10 seconds and then everyone stops moving and I disconnect from the server every time and rejoining will just give me 10 more seconds of gameplay

It happens alot to servers with whitelists. The servers whitelists malfunction do to it having an unbalanced connection. It allows you to play for a few seconds and then it finds that you're not on the whitelist and your thrown off. That could be it. If not then it could be your' connection. I hope this information helps. I'm not sure about that though. Find out the error and tell me what it is/what it says and then I'll look into it, or I'll just be able to tell you what's wrong straight away. Try checking those two things though. Please reply with results.

Actually, I think I've found a solution. By contacting the server owner (say your friend) you must tell them to delete your folder, deleting your account off of that server which makes the server act like you've never been on it, which in turn clears your inventory. All of your builds and items in chests are still there, but you will appear at spawn and lose the items that were in your inventory. Look into that but I'm not sure if that will work.

Hey! I really need help. My Minecraft keeps randomly freezing, in single player, and in multiplayer. This is extremely annoying when I'm trying to record something, or when I'm in PVP... I always end up dying because of this... And Minecraft is always running at 55-80 fps, so it's not like I have a bad laptop or anything. (Yes, I'm using a laptop) I just bought this laptop, and it is better than my desktop, so I don't know why it keeps freezing! My desktop never freezes, which is very, very annoying. I don't know why it is doing this, but please, I'm need help! I appreciate any tips you guys have to say. Thanks a lot! Also, it doesn't fully crash, it just freezes for about 30 seconds every 5-10 minutes (VERY ANNOYING ! )

Try using this, at this time I can not find an earlier beta download for you to test.
