On Minecraftwiki, it says the following on extreme hills biome:
Mountain (Extreme Hills) A highly mountainous biome with dull grey-blue grass and few trees, added in the 1.8 Adventure Update. Prior to this update, mountains were found in all types of biomes, but now are very rare outside this type of land. More underground cave systems are present here than any other biome. There is a variant of it called "Ice Mountains".
Read the bold. I have yet to see a "Ice Mountain" biome yet. I really enjoyed the mountains in the snow in earlier versions. Is there a glitch where they don't spawn in 1.1 or something? I even searched for ice mountain seeds, but only found one for an earlier version.
Not sure what they mean by that. Maybe it's just talking about snowy mountains? I honestly haven't a clue
I've figured it out! It's on this ExtraBiomes mod. The creator states:
Ice Mountains
Contrary to popular belief, the Ice Mountains have no ice whatsoever. The Ice Mountains were made by Notch, but never allowed to generate 'cause he stinks.

I guess that they just aren't allowed to spawn!
For 1.1 or the recent screenshot update?
Oh I see. I have messed with the extrabiomes mod. I didn't say anything about cause it was off topic from the thread lol

Why? I think he should have let them spawn. Why create them if they can't spawn?
It was probably replaced with the Hills "technical biome" which causes fairly large hills to spawn in most biomes. The Minecraft Wiki says: Hills are generated within Forest, Taiga, Desert, Jungle, and Tundra biomes and are referred in the F3 menu as "ForestHills", "TaigaHills", etc. Forest hills seem to be generate more rarely than the other hills in their respective main biome. Tundra Hills are usually taller. In update 1.3 hills generated in forest and desert biomes are now tall.
That is strange because I just spawned into an ice mountain biome. My version is 1.3.2. And I used the Large biomes mode. My seed is extremehills. Tell me if you get an Ice Mountain:)
Remember to do large biomes.

Ok, I'll test it out, thanks.
